Today we’d like to introduce you to Silvia (Chandni) Singh-Jain.
Hi Silvia (Chandni), can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a simple quest for the perfect purse to complement my diverse wardrobe and personal style. I often found it difficult to find accessories that reflected both my cultural roots and modern fashion preferences, so I started looking for something different.
That search led me to connect with talented artisans whose craftsmanship and creativity inspired me. I work closely with them on color selections and styles, while they bring each piece to life through their skill and artistry. What began as a personal passion has grown into a business that allows me to share their beautiful, handcrafted work with others who appreciate pieces that blend tradition and modern style.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely was not a smooth road in the beginning. One of my biggest challenges was finding the right artisan in India whose style and craftsmanship aligned with my vision. I spent countless hours researching, scheduling video calls, and building relationships before finding the right fit.
On top of that, I work a full-time 9-to-5 job and am a mom to a young child, so balancing family, work, and a growing business was not always easy. There were also occasional language barriers and the added challenge of coordinating everything across opposite time zones. Many of my conversations and planning sessions happened late at night or early in the morning to accommodate India’s schedule.
While there were definitely obstacles along the way, those challenges taught me patience, persistence, and the importance of building strong partnerships. Looking back, every hurdle was worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Finance Manager by day and the owner of Get Clutched by CSJ by night. While my professional career is rooted in finance, my passion has always been fashion and beautiful accessories.
At Get Clutched by CSJ, we work with talented artisans to create handcrafted clutches that are designed with love, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. What I love most is seeing customers come back again and again. There is no greater compliment than a repeat customer who trusts us to be part of their special occasions and everyday style.
One of the most meaningful parts of the brand is that every clutch is named after a family member or a friend who feels like family. Each name carries a special story and personal connection, making every collection even more meaningful to me.
What sets us apart is that we focus on quality over quantity. Each clutch is thoughtfully created and curated, blending timeless craftsmanship with unique designs that help our customers feel confident, beautiful, and a little more special.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would say authenticity is the quality that has contributed most to my success. I’ve always stayed true to my vision and focused on offering products that I genuinely love and would carry myself.
I believe customers can tell when something is created with care and intention. From the relationships I’ve built with artisans to the personal stories behind each clutch, I’ve tried to keep the brand authentic and meaningful. Seeing customers connect with that and come back for future purchases is incredibly rewarding and reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
