Rising Stars: Meet Samantha Subido of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Subido.

Hi Samantha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Sammy, I am a full time Registered Nurse by profession, and a content creator by passion.

I have always loved capturing everyday moments, story telling, and simply romanticizing my life.

I used to make my own personal vlogs that included sharing my favorite places to go, eat, shop, etc., but never got around to making a vlog out of it. I also have a love for beauty and fashion, because you know what they say- when you look good, you feel good. Those are the types of content I usually share and hope to be of use to others.

This year I told myself to go all in and that included turning my back on the fear of what others may think stop me from doing what I love. So, to tell you the truth, I started content with the intention of just having fun.

Though a new creator who is still learning more each day, I can say that content has brought me so many opportunities. I have learned to express myself more and be confident in who I am, I’ve met amazing people along the way who have turned into good friends, and have dabbled into modeling as well.

None of the opportunities I’ve had this year would have been possible without stepping out of my comfort zone and that is all thanks to content.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m sure other creators can agree with me on this one and tell you that it most definitely is not a smooth road, but that’s the beauty of content, you know it’s not going to be smooth sailing (or else everyone would be doing it), and you just keep trying and persevering.

Whether it’s doubting yourself because maybe what you’re sharing doesn’t align with your audience or that people may judge you for stepping out of the ordinary. I would say one of my biggest struggles when I first started out was caring too deep about what others think because it was another side of me I didn’t let out entirely in the past.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
This is hard! I would say I’m both a professional and a creative.

As of now, I still work full time in the hospital, I’m a NICU nurse, taking care of our tiniest but mightiest patients! On my days off, I am a fully dedicated content creator. I specialize in lifestyle, travel, beauty and fashion.

Active on both Instagram and TikTok. On socials I go by “Sammy,” but most days I just go by Sam or “sis” to family and friends haha.

I’m most proud of balancing both sides of my life that are sometimes on totally opposite spectrums, BUT I love that I can still help others in both.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There’s so many people to thank and deserves credit.

My parents and brother, who are my constant supporters. They’ve dealt and seen all sides of “Sammy” before I even started the idea of going all in with content.

My relatives, who cheer me on near or far. Most especially my aunt in New York who always welcomes me into her home when I’m in the area for an event or a photoshoot.

My friends, old and new- who have continued to help me, both physically with content and emotionally when I have days where I doubt myself.

My audience and followers, they drive me to continue. They inspire me as much as I inspire them.

And to the one special guy who sees it all behind the scenes- who celebrates with me during my highs, and never leaves my side during my lows. He brings positivity into my head when I’m too hard and negative on myself.
