Hi Precious, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story has never followed a traditional path. I was born with hydrocephalus and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. From an early age, I learned the importance of resilience, imagination, and creating possibilities for myself—even when life did not unfold as expected.
Writing became one of the ways I processed my experiences and expressed the stories I felt were missing. In 2016, I published my debut novel, Dreams of a Bad Bitch, under the pen name Champagne Couture. Becoming a published author showed me that I did not have to wait for someone else’s permission to share my voice. That experience eventually inspired me to create Tell Our Vision Publishing, an independent publishing company dedicated to helping authors transform their ideas into professionally published books.
Alongside my creative work, I built a career in technology. I currently work as a web developer and pursued my bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. Working in technology taught me how to solve problems, build digital experiences, and combine creativity with strategy. I now use those skills to support my own businesses while continuing to grow professionally in web development and cybersecurity.
My journey also led me to acting. I have appeared in several independent productions and play Officer Tracy Winters in Project Heat Baltimore. Acting gives me another way to tell meaningful stories. As an author, I create characters on the page; as an actress, I get to step inside those characters and bring their emotions and experiences to life.
Today, I am an author, publisher, actress, web developer, and cybersecurity professional. For a long time, I thought I had to choose only one identity, but I eventually realized that all these parts of me work together. Technology gives structure to my creativity, publishing allows me to help others share their voices, and acting gives me another platform for storytelling.
I am now focused on expanding Tell Our Vision Publishing, developing new books and creative projects, growing as an actress, and using everything I have learned to encourage other women to pursue their goals. My journey is proof that you can reinvent yourself, embrace more than one calling, and build something meaningful from every part of your story.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of my greatest challenges has been balancing a full-time career, education, entrepreneurship, publishing, acting, and my personal life while also managing health challenges related to being born with hydrocephalus. There have been moments when my health forced me to slow down, reevaluate my priorities, and rebuild my confidence.
I have also struggled with feeling pressured to choose only one path. Because I have interests in technology, cybersecurity, publishing, and acting, I sometimes questioned whether pursuing multiple passions made me unfocused. Over time, I realized that these different experiences are not competing with one another—they are all part of what makes my journey unique.
Like many independent creatives and entrepreneurs, I have faced limited resources, closed doors, self-doubt, and the challenge of building something while still learning. I have had to teach myself new skills, invest in my own ideas, and keep moving forward even when the results were not immediate.
Each struggle has strengthened my resilience and reminded me why I started. I have learned that progress does not always happen in a straight line. Sometimes success means adjusting the plan, beginning again, and refusing to allow setbacks to become the end of your story.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work lives at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and creative entrepreneurship. I am an author, independent publisher, actress, web developer, and cybersecurity professional. Although I work across several industries, everything I do is connected by a shared purpose: building platforms, creating meaningful experiences, and helping stories reach the people who need to hear them.
As an author, I write under the name Champagne Couture. I am best known for my debut novel, Dreams of a Bad Bitch, a story centered on survival, identity, healing, and transformation. I am currently revisiting the novel through an Anniversary Edition that reflects my growth as a writer and gives readers a deeper, more developed version of the story.
I am also the founder of Tell Our Vision Publishing, an independent publishing company created to help aspiring authors turn their ideas and manuscripts into professionally published books. I specialize in guiding writers through the creative and technical sides of publishing, including book development, branding, formatting, cover direction, digital presence, and preparing their work for release. I understand how overwhelming the process can feel, so I want authors to know they do not have to navigate it alone.
In addition to publishing, I work professionally as a web developer and have pursued a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. My technical background allows me to approach creative projects strategically. I do not just think about how something looks; I consider how it functions, how people experience it, how it can grow, and how it can be protected.
As an actress, I have appeared in several independent productions and play Officer Tracy Winters in Project Heat Baltimore. Acting has expanded my understanding of character, emotion, and visual storytelling, which also makes me a stronger writer and creative director.
What sets me apart is my ability to move between the creative and technical worlds. I can envision a story, build the brand around it, develop its digital platform, and understand the systems needed to support it. I also bring the perspective of someone who has had to overcome personal and professional obstacles while continuing to reinvent herself.
I am most proud that I did not allow myself to be placed in one box. I have built a career in technology while continuing to pursue publishing and acting, and I have transformed skills I once developed for survival into tools that can help other people create opportunities for themselves. More than any title or project, I am proud of becoming the kind of woman who keeps building, learning, and making room for others to tell their stories.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is living with purpose and using my experiences to create opportunities for myself and others. I know what it feels like to face circumstances that could have limited my future, which is why I am intentional about not wasting the life, gifts, or second chances I have been given.
Storytelling is especially important to me because everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, and understood. Whether I am writing a book, helping an author publish their story, developing a website, or bringing a character to life on screen, I want my work to make people feel that their voices and experiences matter.
My family, personal growth, and legacy also mean a great deal to me. Success is not only about what I accomplish for myself; it is about what I build, who I encourage, and what remains after me. I want my journey to show other women that their past does not have to define their future, that it is never too late to begin again, and that they do not have to shrink themselves to fit into one box.
Ultimately, what matters most is becoming everything I was created to be while helping others recognize what is possible for them.
