Today we’d like to introduce you to Jentastic Arts.
Hi Jentastic, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I thought myself balloons animals with a book back in 2001. I twisted balloons in restaurants for tips and someone asked if I could be clown for a birthday party. I didn’t know anything about magic all I know was dancing. I just said yes and I got more and more requests. I became known as Jen Jen the dancing clown. 15 year later I went to clown conventions and learned magic and won first place for costume and make up for Clown of America International. When the pandemic happened, I lost all my restaurants and had to learn how to adapt. I had no idea if I’d ever twist balloons again. I started traveling and along the way I land a position at Mischief and Magic in Wisconsin doing large festivals like Milwaukee Pride and Bubbles productions here in Bowie, Maryland where I face paint at Anne Arundel County and Calvert county fair. After 5 years of traveling the country ive worked in 9 states and visited 49 states making balloons in all of the and Costa rica. This year after my Fair season ended I was hired on by Willy woo woo and we decided to stay in Maryland full time. I was featured on Capitol Gazette. And every year I preform at Burke festival in Virginia.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pandemic changed everything for me I had to learn how to continue doing my art with no resources. That’s when I learned how to travel through and work for agents who book balloon artist, clowns and face painters.
I can elaborate more on this in person. It ended up teaching me a new way of living and adapting.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a dancing clown, those words usually don’t go together. I make balloon animals, face paint and spread joy all around.
I can elaborate more on this topic in person
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I plan to be preforming in school shows in the Maryland area and only traveling for large festivals.
