Today we’d like to introduce you to Earl Monkou.
Earl, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It began with my mother. When I once asked her to make granola for me, she gently challenged me instead—telling me I could make it myself. That moment planted a seed of independence and creativity that stayed with me. Around the same time, a mentor encouraged me to focus not just on food, but on education—helping people understand the real benefits of eating well and nourishing their bodies intentionally.
With the combined influence of my parents and my mentor—each entrepreneurs in their own right—I began to see health and wellness as both a personal responsibility and a powerful vehicle for impact. Those lessons ultimately led me to create Nature’s Hype, a brand rooted in self-sufficiency, education, and making healthy living feel accessible and empowering.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many purpose-driven businesses, the journey has been marked by stops, starts, and periods of rebuilding. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing vision with capacity—growing a brand while working full time, managing limited resources, and learning every part of the business in real time, from production and pricing to marketing and consistency.
There is also a recent personal struggle. Losing my parents deeply impacted my momentum and motivation, especially since they were my biggest supporters. Grief forced me to slow down and reassess why I was building in the first place. My struggle however, sharpened my purpose. They pushed me to build with intention, resilience, and faith—understanding that the road doesn’t have to be smooth to be meaningful or sustainable.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a health and wellness specialist, coach, and founder of Nature’s Hype, where I focus on helping people build sustainable habits around nutrition, rest, movement, and daily lifestyle choices. I specialize in making health feel practical, especially for busy adults and families by breaking down complex nutrition concepts into simple, actionable steps centered on real food, consistency, and long-term wellness rather than quick fixes.
I’m known for leading community-based wellness programs and for using food particularly fresh juices and granola—as an entry point for education and behavior change. Whether I’m working in parks, community centers, or through my own brand, my goal is always the same: meet people where they are and give them tools they can actually use. I’m most proud of the impact—seeing individuals and families gain confidence in making healthier choices and realizing that wellness is accessible, not exclusive.
What sets me apart is that I don’t separate education from lived experience. I teach what I practice. I’m navigating grief, career demands, and entrepreneurship while staying committed to my health, faith, and purpose. That real-life lens allows me to connect authentically with people who are trying to rebuild their health while juggling real responsibilities. My work isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, resilience, and empowering people to take ownership of their well-being.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, my focus is on growth with intention. I’m working toward expanding Nature’s Hype beyond a product-based business into a full wellness ecosystem—one that blends education, community programming, digital resources, and thoughtfully crafted products. That includes scaling juice and food offerings, building structured wellness programs, and creating tools that help people improve their energy, gut health, and overall quality of life in a sustainable way.
I’m also planning to deepen my impact through education and coaching—developing workshops, courses, and partnerships that allow me to reach people beyond my local community. One of the biggest shifts I’m preparing for is aligning all of my work under a unified mission: helping people rebuild their health through daily habits, not extremes. I’m most looking forward to stepping fully into that role—moving from doing everything myself to building systems, collaborations, and a brand that can outlive me and continue serving communities for years to come.
