Today we’d like to introduce you to CHARLES WILLIAMS.
Hi CHARLES, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Oxon Hill, Maryland, and I am proud to say that my community played a major role in shaping the person I am today. I attended Oxon Hill High School and graduated in 1994. Growing up in the DMV taught me how to be resilient, resourceful, and determined. I learned early that success is not always about where you begin—it is about having the courage and discipline to keep moving forward.
My fitness journey began in 1998. What started as a personal interest gradually became a lifestyle and an important foundation in my life. Fitness taught me patience, consistency, mental toughness, and accountability. It showed me that genuine transformation does not happen overnight. You must continue showing up, especially on the days when you do not feel motivated. Those lessons have carried over into every area of my life.
As I grew older, my entrepreneurial spirit began to develop. I wanted to create opportunities for myself, build something meaningful for my family, and show others that their past or present circumstances do not have to determine their future. That vision led me to establish StillRoyal LLC and pursue opportunities in several industries, including transportation, towing, vending, janitorial services, construction, and government contracting. Each venture has taught me something different about leadership, responsibility, persistence, and serving others.
An important part of my journey has been my friendship and business partnership with Rick Vic. Rick is one of my closest friends and the original creator of GetYahGreatness, also known as GYG. He had the vision to build a brand focused on fitness, discipline, personal growth, and bringing out the greatness within people. He later brought me into that vision as his business partner, giving us the opportunity to take this adventure together and work toward successfully building and expanding the brand.
For me, joining GetYahGreatness was a natural fit because its message closely reflects the principles that have guided my own life. GYG is more than a fitness brand—it is a mindset and a movement. It represents reaching within yourself, recognizing your potential, and refusing to make excuses for not becoming the best version of yourself.
Together, Rick and I want people to understand that greatness is not reserved for celebrities, professional athletes, or individuals with perfect circumstances. Greatness already exists inside every one of us, but it takes faith, discipline, consistency, and hard work to bring it forward. Our mission is to motivate people not only to improve physically, but also to become stronger mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
My journey has included challenges, setbacks, lessons, and moments when I had to rebuild. However, every experience strengthened my character and helped me develop a deeper sense of purpose. I did not arrive where I am today by following a perfect path. I arrived through faith, consistency, hard work, loyal relationships, and the determination to keep going.
Today, I consider myself an entrepreneur, fitness advocate, motivator, business partner, and lifelong student. I am still growing, still building, and still becoming. My goal is not only to create successful businesses, but also to help build a legacy that inspires my family and my community.
If our journey can encourage even one person to stop making excuses, believe in themselves, and begin working toward their goals, then we know we are fulfilling our purpose.
Our message is simple: GetYahGreatness. No Excuses. Stay focused, remain consistent, and never stop working toward the person you were created to become.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has definitely not always been smooth. Like many entrepreneurs, I have experienced setbacks, financial pressure, closed doors, self-doubt, and moments when the vision was much bigger than the resources I had available. I have had to learn how to balance business, family, personal responsibilities, and fitness while continuing to move forward—even when progress seemed slow.
One of my greatest challenges has been building businesses without always having access to unlimited funding, connections, or a step-by-step blueprint. I had to educate myself, ask questions, make mistakes, and learn through real-life experience. Entering industries such as transportation, towing, vending, janitorial services, construction, and government contracting required me to understand different regulations, expenses, customer expectations, and business practices. Every industry presented a new learning curve.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in identifying opportunities and figuring out how to turn an idea into an operating business. Whether I am researching a government contract, developing a proposal, servicing a transportation customer, pursuing a vending location, or building a new partnership, I approach the work with discipline, persistence, and a willingness to learn. I am not afraid to enter a new industry, study its requirements, and put in the work necessary to become successful.
What I am most proud of is my ability to continue building despite challenges and setbacks. I did not begin with unlimited resources, a perfect roadmap, or all the answers. Much of what I know came through experience, research, mistakes, persistence, and refusing to quit. I am proud that I have remained committed to my vision while continuing to grow as a businessman, partner, husband, father, and leader.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as peace of mind, freedom, and the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Success is reaching a place where you can live comfortably without waking up every day worried about bills, debt, or how you are going to make ends meet.
However, success is not only about taking care of myself. It means knowing that my family is secure, my loved ones have what they need, and I am in a position to help my friends when they genuinely need support. It is having the resources and influence to create opportunities for other people instead of only creating opportunities for myself.
