Meet Venus Freeman of DC & Surrounding Areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Venus Freeman.

Venus, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My Truth Is is a movement founded by Venus Freeman to break the silence around mental health, abuse, domestic violence, and bullying. We believe that everyone has a story, and healing begins when people have a safe space to share their truth.

Who is Venus Freeman? Venus Freeman is the Founder of “My Truth Is: Breaking the Silence” initiative. She is a mentor to teens and adults, and a Woman of Influence within the community. Venus Freeman has personally experienced several of the topics that the campaign is addressing. She feels it is her personally obligations and calling to bring awareness to mental health, physical and mental abuse, domestic violence, and bullying to the forefront.  Venus Freeman goal is to speak her truth with hopes that she will encourage others to break their silence and seek the mental and physical support needed to conquer the obstacles and barriers associated with mental and physical health. Also her goal is to create a platform funded by our government leaders with resources readily available to assist our communities.

Our mission is to raise awareness, connect people with resources, and create communities where mental health is understood, supported, and openly discussed—from childhood through adulthood. We also advocate for the resources and policies needed to better serve our communities.

At My Truth Is, we’re giving mental health a voice, because when we break the silence, we begin to heal.
