Meet Trene’ Forbes of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trene’ Forbes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Trene’ Forbes is a wedding and portrait photographer serving clients from Baltimore, Washington DC and worldwide. With over 16 years experience in the industry, my work has taken her across the globe to South Africa, France, Haiti, and the Caribbean.

Photography is more than just a profession; it’s a way of connecting with people and immortalizing their most special moments. Whether it’s the joy of two souls uniting in marriage, the love shared among family, or the individuality of each person, I aim to authentically document every unique story that unfolds before me.

One of my greatest joys as a photographer is witnessing the genuine emotions that come alive during weddings and portraits. I take pride in my ability to make my clients feel completely at ease in front of the camera, allowing them to be their most authentic selves.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“One of the biggest obstacles I face as a wedding photographer is balancing the unpredictable nature of a wedding day with my clients’ expectations. Every wedding has its own challenges—whether it’s changing weather, tight timelines, difficult lighting, or unexpected delays—but my role is to stay calm, adapt quickly, and keep the couple relaxed. Beyond taking beautiful photographs, I’m managing relationships, solving problems in real time, and preserving memories that can never be recreated. Those challenges are also what make this work so rewarding because every wedding requires both technical expertise and genuine care for the people I’m serving.”

Staying relevant in a highly competitive industry. It takes consistent branding, exceptional customer service, networking with wedding planners and venues, and continually refining your craft to stay visible.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full-time wedding and portrait photographer with the privilege of documenting some of life’s most meaningful milestones. While I primarily serve couples and families throughout the DMV, I have a deep love for destination weddings and the opportunity to tell love stories in beautiful locations around the world.

My photography is rooted in authenticity. I believe the most powerful images are the ones that capture genuine emotion—the quiet glances, heartfelt embraces, joyful tears, and moments that unfold naturally. My goal is to create timeless photographs that allow my clients to relive not only what their wedding day looked like, but what it felt like.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Being invited into such an intimate and significant chapter of someone’s life is a responsibility I never take for granted. Knowing that the photographs I create will become part of a family’s legacy is incredibly rewarding.

What sets me apart is the experience I provide. I strive to create a calm, enjoyable environment where couples can be fully present and simply enjoy their wedding day. By building genuine relationships with my clients, I’m able to tell their story in a way that feels personal, honest, and uniquely theirs. My focus has never been on creating perfect moments—it’s on preserving the real ones that become the memories people cherish for a lifetime.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I would say visiting my mother in New York every summer for two weeks. My mother didn’t raise me. I am the only child and I was raised by my great aunt and uncle. My mom had me at the age of 16 and she pursued her career as a Broadway actress in New York. She passed away when I was 24.
