Meet Sandra Brown of Baltimore City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Brown.

Sandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began as a working mother trying to do everything “right,” only to realize that the childcare system wasn’t built to support families like mine.

As a mom of four, I experienced firsthand how difficult it was to find reliable, trustworthy childcare that extended beyond traditional daycare hours. Between professional obligations, events, and real-life responsibilities that don’t end at 5 p.m., I kept encountering the same gap: quality childcare was hardest to find when families needed it most. I knew I couldn’t be the only parent navigating this challenge.

Kreative Kidz Agency was born from that realization.

I didn’t start with outside funding or a perfectly mapped-out business plan. I started with lived experience, determination, and a deep understanding of what modern families truly need: flexibility, professionalism, and trust. I built a concierge-style childcare placement agency designed to meet families where they are. Every caregiver is carefully vetted, background-checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and intentionally matched to each family or event.

As the agency grew, so did the vision. What began as hands-on childcare evolved into providing structured, on-site childcare solutions for private residences, luxury hotels, weddings, corporate events, sports teams, and high-profile functions throughout Maryland. I focused on building strong systems, trusted partnerships, and high standards that allow parents to step away with confidence, knowing their children are safe, engaged, and cared for at an exceptional level.

The journey has not been without challenges. Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship required resilience, faith, and the willingness to grow as a leader. There were seasons of uncertainty that stretched me, but they also refined me. I learned to trust my instincts, lean into my faith, and lead with intention even when the path wasn’t clear.

Today, Kreative Kidz Agency serves professional families and organizations seeking reliable, white-glove childcare solutions when traditional options fall short. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but I’m even more energized by what’s ahead.

At its core, Kreative Kidz Agency exists to empower families, elevate caregivers, and redefine what modern childcare can look like when it’s built by a parent, for parents.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been far from smooth—but every meaningful business has its tests. One of my biggest hurdles was building a childcare agency grounded in trust. Parents don’t give that trust lightly. I had to create meticulous vetting, reliable systems, and show up with consistency, even when growth took time.

Scaling also meant staying true to our mission. Childcare is personal, not just business. I’ve had to be patient, sometimes turning down opportunities to ensure we had the right caregivers, not just any caregiver.

Balancing motherhood and leadership has been one of my greatest challenges. Raising four kids while building Kreative Kidz Agency meant early mornings, tough decisions, and learning through trial and error. Without traditional funding, every system and partnership was built from scratch. But these challenges shaped us into a resilient, mission-driven agency.

Every obstacle reminded me why we do this. Families need flexible care; caregivers need respect. Those challenges didn’t slow us down—they strengthened the mission. Now, we’re a trusted agency where parents find peace of mind and caregivers are proud to belong.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the founder and CEO, my work centers on helping families feel supported, confident, and at ease—even when life is busy, unpredictable, or happening outside of 9–5. We are a concierge-style childcare placement agency providing highly vetted, professional caregivers for private residences, luxury hotels, corporate events, weddings, sports teams, and special occasions throughout Maryland.

We specialize in flexible, on-demand, and on-site childcare solutions—particularly in moments when traditional options simply aren’t available.

What we’re known for is our intentional, white-glove approach. Every caregiver is carefully hand-selected, background-checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and thoughtfully matched to each family’s specific needs. Once assigned, families receive a detailed written and video bio, direct communication with their caregiver, and a level of professionalism that allows them to truly step away with peace of mind.

I often describe myself as a modern-day Nanny McPhee—not in a whimsical way, but in the calm structure and confident leadership that enters the room when real support is present. My role as CEO is to build systems that bring order to chaos, empower caregivers to show up prepared and professional, and give parents the freedom to focus on what matters most, knowing their children are in capable hands.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve earned. Families return to us for milestone moments, last-minute needs, and high-profile events because they know we will show up with excellence. I’m equally proud of the opportunities we’ve created for caregivers—particularly college-educated professionals—to do meaningful work where they feel valued, respected, and supported.

What truly sets Kreative Kidz Agency apart is that it was built by a parent, for parents. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all childcare. We believe in personalized matching, clear communication, and care that adapts to real life.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to step in when families need support most—so they can confidently step out, knowing their children are safe, engaged, and cared for with intention.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as impact, alignment, and sustainability.

Success isn’t just about revenue or growth. It’s about whether the work I’m doing genuinely supports families, creates meaningful opportunities for caregivers, and aligns with the life I’m intentionally building. If parents can step away with peace of mind, knowing their children are safe and cared for with excellence, that’s success. If caregivers feel respected, prepared, and proud to represent our agency, that’s success.

I also define success as building something that lasts. Creating strong systems, clear standards, and a culture rooted in integrity matters more to me than quick wins. Success means making thoughtful decisions—even when they’re difficult—and protecting our mission as demand grows.

On a personal level, success is presence. It’s leading a thriving agency without sacrificing my role as a mother. It’s being able to show up for my children while showing up as a leader. It’s knowing I don’t have to compromise my values or my family to build something meaningful.

Ultimately, success looks like balance. Progress without burnout. Growth without compromise. A business that reflects my faith, my standards, and my heart for families.

If Kreative Kidz Agency continues to empower families, uplift caregivers, and redefine what modern childcare can look like, then I consider that success.
