Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Gensits.
Hi Natalie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I went to college for marketing and advertising and have spent my whole career in that industry.
I also muddled through a multiple year wellness journey. In 2015, after learning so much about nutrition and the role it plays in my overall health, I was inspired to write a book, Digested — eating healthier made easier 3 ways. I also did talks on this topic. At one point I even thought about becoming a health coach.
But my real skill set and passion are within the writing and marketing arenas, so that’s where I roost to this day. My relationship with Jesus has been a big part of my story too.
Now I run Wellness Wordshop, a content marketing company through which we help wellness pros and wellness seekers connect. We focus on messaging — the copy and content — for websites, blogs and emails that get wellness pros consistently seen as the expert in their unique voice. Our approach is highly authentic and based on building relationships.
I’m also a nutrition advocate, helping more adults and kids get clean fruits and vegetables in their bodies daily.
My overarching goal is to help more people be well. I do this by helping wellness professionals grow their businesses and thrive, and by helping people find the right providers and resources to achieve their wellbeing goals — whether physical, mental, emotional, financial or professional.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been bumpy!
One of my biggest obstacles was pivoting my messaging after publishing my book. I’d built an audience going business-to-consumer, so shifting to a business-to-business market for wellness providers got tangled. My messaging became too confusing because I was still trying to help with wellness too much and I hadn’t niched down.
There have also been a couple of geographic moves — one of which was a mold remediation move, much more involved than a regular move — all while still on my own wellness journey. So I haven’t had as much time and resources to dedicate to this as I would like.
Plus, uprooting from St. Louis, Missouri, where I knew so many people in the wellness industry, and coming to Maryland, where I knew nobody, has made it a challenge to find a community I mesh with. There don’t seem to be many wellness provider networks or events that blend wellness with growing your business, which I would love to change!
We’ve been impressed with Wellness Wordshop, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wellness Wordshop helps wellness professionals be seen as the expert through consistent content marketing in their voice. We focus on the messaging and content for your website, blogs and emails that will help you connect with the clients you love to work with and genuinely build relationships while educating.
We use an authentic marketing approach centered around your ideal client’s needs and what you are most passionate about. We ask questions that go beyond what AI knows to ask and apply our own wellness experiences to help improve your conversion rate.
The goals are for you to be able to build a pipeline in the background while you focus on your clients, and for the consistency and quality of your content to match the care you provide.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships we’re building as more people work toward their wellbeing goals.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
