Meet Moondog Revival of DC & Surrounding Areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moondog Revival.

Hi Moondog, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Moondog Revival began with singer/guitarist Sean Lawrence and guitarist Jackson Hall, who were already close friends and shared a passion for playing guitar together. The two decided to take that friendship and musical chemistry a step further by starting a band. After connecting with other local musicians through online musician networking websites, the lineup came together: Milo Devereux on guitar, Noah Fye on bass, Sam Harmon on keyboard, and Elliott Weeks on drums. From there, Moondog Revival was born. The band’s name is a nod to the Beatles’ original name, “Johnny and the Moondogs,” reflecting their appreciation for the history and spirit of rock and roll. Over the past year, Moondog Revival has played dozens of shows throughout the DMV, developing a sound that blends psychedelic rock, alternative rock, and classic rock with their own original music. What started as two friends playing guitar together has grown into a six-piece band dedicated to creating a unique sound and bringing their music to audiences throughout the region.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part it has been a smooth road. Moondog Revival has released their debut single “Moondogs” with much more original content in the works to be released in the near future. Moondog Revival has made great strides in their first year such as headlining Songbyrd Music House, Death Punch and playing Pie Shop in DC showcasing our original catalogue as well as dozens of bars in the local area.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
