Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Lozano.
Hi Alyssa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into real estate really started from a gap I saw while working in cybersecurity at the NSA. Many of my colleagues were in the intelligence and military community, and because of TDYs, deployments, and PCS moves, they often had to leave their properties behind. The challenge wasn’t just finding someone to “watch” the property. They needed someone they could trust to actually manage it well and ensure it remained a strong, income producing asset.
At the same time, I was facing a similar challenge myself. I had my own properties, but with the demands of working in cybersecurity, I simply didn’t have the time to manage them the way they needed. I realized there was an opportunity to build something that solved both problems.
That’s how I started my property management company, which really operates more like an asset management firm. From the beginning, the focus was not just on basic management, but on performance. We conduct detailed market analysis, implement strategic pricing, and perform routine property checks to ensure each property is operating at its highest potential.
In the early days, I was balancing two worlds, cybersecurity during the day and real estate at night. But that dual experience actually gave me an advantage. The discipline, risk awareness, and analytical thinking from cybersecurity translated directly into how I approached real estate and asset optimization.
What started as a solution for my own properties and a small network of colleagues quickly grew. As we built trust within the intelligence and military community, we began expanding to serve a broader client base. Over time, we attracted larger investors who were not just looking for property management, but for true asset maximization.
Today, the company is built around that same core principle. We don’t just manage properties, we manage assets with intention, strategy, and a focus on long term growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, it has been a relatively smooth journey, largely because there was a clear and immediate need for the service I was providing. I built the company around a real problem, and that made growth more natural. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t challenges along the way.
The biggest challenge early on was time. I was balancing being a mother, working full time in cybersecurity, and running the business without any employees. In the beginning, I handled every part of the operation myself, from tenant screening to maintenance coordination to client communication. It was essentially working two full time jobs while raising a family.
As the company began to grow, I had to quickly transition from doing everything myself to building systems and bringing in the right people. Scaling came with its own pressure. Bringing on larger investors meant higher expectations, faster response times, and the need to expand our network of contractors and support. I was intentional about how I grew the team, choosing to build a strong, reliable contractor network that could respond quickly rather than rushing into a large in-house structure.
One advantage I had was that I was already managing my own properties before starting the company, so there wasn’t a steep learning curve. What the business did do was teach me how to scale. Over time, I was able to more than triple my own real estate portfolio while simultaneously managing properties for others.
Another factor that made the journey smoother was trust. Many of my early clients came from the intelligence and military community, and they valued discretion, reliability, and attention to detail. We built our reputation by delivering consistent, high level service. We rarely deal with evictions because we are extremely thorough in our screening process. We approach tenant screening with the same level of scrutiny as a mortgage approval process. My background in cybersecurity also plays a role here. I am able to identify inconsistencies in documentation and detect potential fraud in ways that most people would miss.
There were definitely moments where I felt stretched, but I also genuinely enjoyed watching the business grow. Each phase required a different version of me, and I embraced that evolution.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
There are several ways to work with us depending on your needs. For property owners and investors, we offer full service asset and property management designed to protect and maximize your investment. Whether you are local or managing properties from a distance, we handle everything from tenant placement and screening to ongoing property oversight and performance optimization.
We also pride ourselves on keeping our pricing straightforward and investor friendly. We offer a flat fee model that most owners qualify for, or 8 percent of monthly rent, whichever is lower. This structure allows our clients to keep more of their income while still receiving high quality, hands on service. We intentionally avoid charging fees for every small task. Our approach is simple. One comprehensive fee that covers the full scope of management, with only a few exceptions such as specialized services like rental inspections.
We also welcome collaborations with real estate investors, agents, and professionals who are looking for a trusted management partner. As we continue to grow, we are always open to building strong relationships that align with our standards and long term vision.
For those looking to connect or get started, the best way is to reach out directly and start the conversation. We are very intentional about who we work with because we prioritize quality over volume, but we are always open to opportunities that create real value.
At the core of everything we do is partnership. We are not just managing properties, we are helping our clients build and sustain long term wealth.
