Meet Aerie B of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aerie B.

Hi Aerie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in the beauty industry began as a freelance makeup artist, taking on opportunities throughout Baltimore and even working behind the scenes at Baltimore Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. Those experiences sparked my love for the artistry of beauty and inspired me to take the next step by earning my esthetician license in 2018.

In 2019, I turned that passion into a business by opening ABAR. What started as a love for makeup evolved into a true passion for helping people feel confident, seen, and beautiful in their own skin. Thanks to the unwavering support of my community—my #BrowBabes, family, and friends—ABAR has grown into so much more than I ever imagined.

Today, ABAR is a reflection of the people who believed in me from the very beginning. I’m grateful to wake up each day doing what I love, but even more grateful for the opportunity to pour into others, build confidence, and create meaningful connections through beauty.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced challenges…from learning how to wear every hat in the business to finding the right team that truly aligned with my vision. There were moments that tested me, but each obstacle taught me something valuable and helped shape the business into what it is today.

Through it all, my #BrowBabes have been my biggest source of encouragement. Their loyalty, trust, and continued support have carried me through every season. They reminded me why I started, and because of them, I kept showing up. I’m incredibly grateful for the community we’ve built together, and they continue to inspire me every day.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At ABAR, I specialize in all things brows and lash extensions, with brow shaping, waxing, and tinting becoming the signature service I’m most known for. My goal has always been to enhance each client’s natural beauty rather than change it. Every face is different, and I believe brows should be customized to complement your unique features—not follow trends.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the work I create, but the relationships I’ve built over the years. Many of my clients have been with me since the beginning, and earning that level of trust is something I never take for granted. Watching women leave my studio standing a little taller, smiling a little bigger, and feeling more confident than when they walked in is the most rewarding part of what I do.

What sets me apart is the experience I provide. I truly listen to my clients, educate them on what’s best for their features, and prioritize the health and integrity of their natural brows and lashes over quick results. I believe beauty is personal, so every appointment is intentional, customized, and centered around helping each client feel like the best version of themselves.

For me, this has never been just about brows or lashes—it’s about creating a space where people feel seen, cared for, and confident. That’s what ABAR has always represented, and that’s what I hope every client takes with them long after they leave my chair.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I always say consistency.
Consistency has been the biggest contributor to my success. Talent may open the door, but consistency is what builds trust. Showing up for my clients year after year, continuing to learn, refining my craft, and staying committed to providing the best experience possible has allowed me to grow a loyal community.

I also believe authenticity has played a huge role. I’ve never tried to be anyone else or follow every trend. I’ve stayed true to my vision, my artistry, and the way I genuinely care for the people who sit in my chair. My clients know they’re not just another appointment—they’re valued, heard, and appreciated. That trust and connection are the foundation of everything I’ve built.
