Today we’d like to introduce you to MONA.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all began in middle school when one of my best friends told me, “I could see you as a rapper.” At first, I thought he was joking, but then I asked, “Me a rapper?” I was hooked on my favorite rappers, singing every word and freestyling to their beats, imagining myself on their songs. I’d record at my friend’s house, and that little hobby became a big part of my life for a while. At first, I didn’t want to show my face in my work, but now I bet others can see how much I care. I’d make videos and then completely redo them, over and over until I thought it was right. I started to feel more confident on camera and had ideas I wanted to share. A little later, my father also started making music, and seeing his talent really inspired me to keep going with my music journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I began recording music when I was 18. Back then, it was all about having fun experimenting and discovering my unique sound. I didn’t see music as a serious pursuit; it was more of a hobby. However, things took a turn when I decided to take my music seriously. The journey wasn’t easy, especially when I started to gain some attention. That’s when the challenges really started—fake deals, fake shows, fake producers, and so much more. But those experiences only made me stronger.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve always been passionate about helping others, which is why I focus on Pharmacy and Behavioral Health, and of course, music. While my music is what I’m most known for, I’m also eager to use that platform to make a difference. I’m incredibly proud of how I’ve managed to juggle these two worlds, and I’m really hoping to merge them soon. What makes me unique is my unwavering commitment to staying true to my vision for my music, no matter what others think. I truly believe we’re all on this journey together, and if you enjoy my music, I hope you’ll be patient as I explore all the different stages of my artistic growth.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m always up for working together! But first and foremost, I’m always working on getting better at what I do. I’m easy to work with, but as a perfectionist, things might take a bit longer on my end, but I always think it’s worth it. I’m always looking for support, especially since I’m still a small artist. So, giving me and my music a chance is always appreciated.
