Life & Work with Jenn Schlosser of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Schlosser.

Hi Jenn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up I’ve always loved playing around with photography! I was the friend that always brought along her little digital camera when hanging out with friends and have countless of cheesy photoshoots with them in the archives of Facebook. After I graduated college, I started charging people for any type of photoshoot they wanted, just trying to get lots little photoshoots by word of mouth. Eventually in 2018 I made the jump to start my own photography business page on Instagram, and still took on any type of photoshoot someone wanted to hire me for, until I started to realize how much I loved working with and photographing couples! From then on I started to niche down and only forward market myself as a wedding & couples photographer. Now 8 years later, I’ve established myself as a wedding industry pro & photographer on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and am so incredibly grateful I get to make art out of people’s love for a living.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall it’s been a mostly smooth road, as I’ve been so blessed to get to work with the best clients and couples that fully trust me with their memories, and continue to invite me back into their lives for all of the milestones that come after the wedding day has past.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Maryland & Eastern Shore wedding photographer that specializes in creatively capturing people’s love stories! I’m so proud of this business that I’ve built from the ground up, and of my work that I’ve poured my heart into honing down into my own special style! I’ve had many people tell me they could tell a photo was taken by me just by looking at it, and that they love how warm and vibrant my photos look while also standing out in a creative and elevated way.

Something that I’d like to say sets me apart from others, is that I treat my clients like friends, and many of them do turn into just that long after the wedding day!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to keep investing in my own business and photography education, and to prioritize community over competition in the wedding industry!
