Life & Work with Chaz Riddle of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaz Riddle.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I played high school football. Captain of the team my senior year and then I joined the USMC. I was trained as a radio operator and after four years I was honorably discharged and began college in California. I took acting classes and worked at a gym. I was married and had two kids. A boy and a girl. They are in their 30’s now and successful. I owned a gym in Maryland that went out of business and I went to school for EMT and radiography. I started doing auditions for tv shows and movies and landed a few roles and now I am a afternoon drivetime DJ.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest struggles have been mostly financial and personal. Stress from lack of funds and more stress to be a good family man. All the while wishing I could be a real actor.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m most proud of my kids but professionally I am most proud of my eclectic body of work. I’ve done stand up comedy, learned guitar, became a SAG actor and now a DJ.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Prepare to have your skin thicken. Lots of rejection but if you believe in yourself, its just a matter of time.
