Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana & Angelica Valencia.
Hi Adriana & Angelica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The story of Azal Studios began with just Angelica and her camera.
Photography started as a hobby for her, especially while traveling. She loved capturing places, little details, and moments along the way. Eventually, she became curious about photographing people and decided to give it a try.
She started by offering free photoshoots, simply to practice, learn, and build her experience. There was no big plan behind it at the time just a love for photography and the desire to see where it could take her.
Then one day, a woman reached out to her about photographing a quinceañera.
That opportunity became the beginning of something much bigger. What started as a travel photography hobby slowly began turning into what we now know as Azal Studios.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of our biggest challenges has been building a name for ourselves in such a competitive industry. There have been months when work has been very slow, and those moments can make you question whether you’re on the right path. But they’ve also pushed us to keep learning, improving our work, and finding new ways to grow. We’re still building Azal Studios, and we’ve learned that growth doesn’t always happen as quickly as you hope.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Outside of Azal Studios, we both have very different professional backgrounds. Angelica is an architect and currently works at a law firm, while Adriana has built her professional experience in customer service while developing her skills as a videographer and editor.
What makes our work together special is how different our strengths are. Angelica brings her creative eye and attention to detail to photography, while Adriana focuses on videography, editing, and storytelling. Together, we’ve been able to combine those skills to create Azal Studios.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being consistent and not giving up
