Conversations with Malaysia Harrell, Founder and CEO of Blissful Life Consulting, President of the Malaysia Harrell Foundation, and the Founder of the Align Success Academy and Community

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malaysia Harrell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has never been linear, but it has always been purposeful. I began my career serving in the United States military, where I spent more than two decades learning about leadership, resilience, and the human capacity to endure difficult circumstances. At the same time, my own life story was unfolding in ways that shaped the work I would eventually do. I survived childhood trauma, experienced the pressures of military service, and later faced a life-threatening illness that forced me to pause and reflect on what truly mattered.

Those experiences changed the trajectory of my life. They helped me understand that success without inner alignment can leave even the most accomplished person feeling empty. That realization led me deeper into mental health work, spiritual transformation, and holistic wellness. I became a board-certified psychotherapist and began helping others navigate trauma, burnout, and life transitions.

Today, I dedicate my work to guiding high-achieving women, leaders, and veterans back to themselves. Everything I do now, from speaking and coaching to writing and building community, comes from helping people transform pain into purpose and rediscover the life they were always meant to live.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road, and in many ways the struggles are what gave my work its depth and authenticity.
I experienced significant trauma early in life, and like many high performers, I learned how to function and succeed while carrying emotional weight that others could not see. Later, military service brought its own challenges, long hours, high expectations, and the responsibility of leadership in demanding environments.

One of the most defining moments came when I faced a life-threatening health crisis that quite literally forced me to confront my mortality. That experience changed how I viewed time, purpose, and the importance of listening to our bodies and our inner voice.

Entrepreneurship also brings its own challenges. Building something meaningful requires courage, patience, and the willingness to step into the unknown. There were moments when things felt uncertain, but those moments also strengthened my faith and reminded me that purpose often emerges from the very places that once felt like setbacks.

Looking back, every struggle became part of the foundation that allows me to connect with the people I serve today.

As you know, we’re big fans of My primary business is Blissful Life Consulting, and I am also the founder of the Align Success Academy and the Align Success Community. Founder and President of Malaysia Harrell Foundation. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Blissful Life Consulting was created from a very simple realization: many successful people look accomplished on the outside but feel disconnected on the inside.

Through Blissful Life Consulting, I help high-achieving women, leaders, and professionals move from burnout and emotional survival into alignment, clarity, and purpose. My work combines clinical psychology, nervous system healing, leadership development, and spiritual alignment to create transformation that is both practical and deeply personal.
What sets my work apart is the integration of science, lived experience, and spiritual insight. I do not teach hustle culture. I teach alignment. My goal is to help people build lives and businesses that feel sustainable, meaningful, and connected to who they truly are.

The Align Success Academy is an intensive transformational program designed for women who are ready to rebrand their lives and businesses through personal and professional alignment. Inside the academy, participants learn how to clarify their purpose, refine their messaging, build visibility, and structure businesses that reflect their authentic values.
The Align Success Community extends that work by creating an ongoing space where purpose-driven women can grow, collaborate, and support each other as they step into their next level of leadership.

Brand-wise, what I am most proud of is that everything I build is rooted in healing, integrity, and impact. The work is not just about professional success; it is about helping people reclaim their voice, their well-being, and their sense of possibility.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is witnessing transformation.

There is something incredibly powerful about watching someone rediscover their confidence after years of self-doubt, or seeing someone realize that their story, even the painful parts, can become a source of purpose and impact.

I find joy in helping people reconnect with their authentic selves. When someone finally understands that they do not have to keep performing a version of life that feels disconnected from who they really are, something shifts.

I also find deep fulfillment in building spaces where people feel safe to grow. Whether it is through coaching, speaking, retreats, or community, my happiness comes from knowing that the work I am doing helps others live more fully, more honestly, and more aligned with the life they were created to live.

For me, success has never been about recognition. It has always been about impact. And there is nothing more meaningful than seeing someone step into a life they once thought was out of reach.
