Inspiring Conversations with Kimmoly LaBoo of LaBoo Publishing Enterprise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimmoly LaBoo.

Hi Kimmoly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my writing journey twenty years ago as a part of my healing process. I thought I would just write one book, and it would be over. To my surprise, writing that first book unleashed my purpose in the most amazing way. Twenty-four books and a publishing company later, I am still going strong.

What began as a way of self-healing became my assignment.

I didn’t set out to create writer’s bootcamps, retreats, and platforms for authors. I didn’t set out to build a publishing company. I simply needed to tell the truth about what I had survived. But what I learned quickly was when you put language to your pain, you give God something to multiply.

Writing forced me to confront what I believed about myself. It challenged the lies I had rehearsed for years. It required vulnerability. And somewhere between the drafts and the deadlines, I stopped seeing myself as someone who had a story and started seeing myself as someone who was entrusted with one. That shift changed everything.

Publishing my own work opened my eyes to how many gifted voices never cross the finish line, not because they lack talent, but because they lack support, clarity, or confidence. I met people with brilliant ideas just sitting in notebooks. I saw the manuscripts that were stalled by fear, and I saw purpose being delayed by perfectionism and I knew I couldn’t just write books; I had to build something bigger.

LaBoo Publishing Enterprise was born from that conviction, not just to produce books, but to steward authors. To help them move from aspiration to completion. Walking them through the process with excellence, integrity, and care.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, the journey has not been without its challenges. Like any meaningful endeavor, there has been a significant learning curve. Navigating industry shifts, staying current with evolving publishing standards, understanding the legal intricacies of the business, and addressing the widespread misconceptions surrounding hybrid publishing requires my constant diligence.

There have been seasons of noise, opinions, criticism, misinformation, and rapid change. But I have learned that clarity is cultivated through focus. By staying rooted in my mission, committed to excellence, and disciplined in its execution, I have been able to build with integrity despite the distractions.

Growth in this industry demands adaptability, but longevity requires conviction. And it is that conviction that has sustained me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
LaBoo Publishing Enterprise specializes in guiding aspiring authors from concept to completion with clarity, structure, and excellence. From manuscript development and coaching, professional editing and refinement, to design, production, and distribution, we provide full-service support. But what truly sets us apart is not the services themselves. It is our standard. We focus on transformation. We don’t just ask, “Is the book done?” We ask, “Is the author ready?” Because being a sustainable author requires more than a finished manuscript. It requires identity, visibility, discipline, and leadership.

What sets us apart is our integration of faith, excellence, and execution. We believe in honoring the assignment attached to every story. We approach publishing with integrity, transparency, and professionalism. Authors who work with us receive more than production support; they receive guidance, accountability, a clear path forward, and they become part of our LPE family.

That commitment to excellence was recently affirmed when I received the International Impact Book Award, an honor that reflects not just a single title, but the heart behind the work. Awards are meaningful, but what matters most is knowing the message is reaching and transforming lives.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the trust we have built. Our reputation has grown largely through referrals, authors who have experienced the process and felt supported, challenged, and seen. That trust is something we protect fiercely.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Mentorship and networking have been instrumental in my growth, but I have learned that both require intentionality.

When seeking a mentor, I advise people to look for alignment before access. Shared values, integrity, and vision matter more than popularity. A mentor should not simply inspire you; they should stretch you, challenge you, and model the standard you aspire to reach. And just as importantly, you have to be willing to do the work.

As for networking, I have found that authentic relationships outlast transactional ones. The most meaningful connections in my journey did not begin with “What can you do for me?” but with “How can we add value to one another?” I focus on building relationships rooted in respect, consistency, and contribution.

What has worked well for me is showing up with excellence, honoring commitments, and allowing my work to speak. When you operate with integrity and clarity, the right relationships tend to form naturally.

In both mentorship and networking, the key is to lead with substance. When you bring value to the table, you attract it in return.
