Today we’d like to introduce you to Sujil Dangol.
Hi sujil, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Journey: From Nepal to Mohmohlicious
I came to the United States in 1998 as an international student with a dream of building a better future. Like many immigrants, I faced challenges, worked hard, and stayed focused on my education. In 2007, I earned master’s degrees in Computer Information Systems (CIS).
After graduating, I worked as a Systems Administrator for five years. It was a stable career, but throughout those years there was always something I deeply missed from home—my mother’s homemade food and the unforgettable late-night street food of Kathmandu. No matter how busy life became, those flavors and memories stayed with me.
As a student, I often searched for authentic Nepali food, but it was difficult to find the taste I grew up with. Whenever I had the chance, I tried to recreate those dishes in my own kitchen. Cooking became more than just preparing meals—it became a way to stay connected to my family, my culture, and my roots.
Over time, I realized I wasn’t the only one who missed those authentic flavors. Friends, fellow students, and members of the Nepali and South Asian community shared the same feeling. They wanted the comfort of homemade food and the vibrant street food they remembered from home.
That realization planted a seed. I began to dream about creating a place where people could experience the authentic taste of Nepal while also introducing those unique flavors to people from all backgrounds. That dream eventually became Mohmohlicious.
Today, Mohmohlicious is more than just a restaurant. It is the story of my journey—from arriving in America as a student with big dreams to sharing the food and culture that shaped my life. Every momo we fold and every curry we prepare carries a piece of my childhood, my family’s traditions, and the streets of Kathmandu that inspired me.
My hope is that every customer who walks through our doors experiences not just a meal, but a warm welcome, a sense of community, and the authentic flavors of Nepal. For me, this business is about honoring my roots, preserving our culinary traditions, and sharing them with the community that has given me so many opportunities.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many small businesses, we also faced financial challenges, rising food costs, labor shortages, inflation, and increasing operating expenses. Building a loyal customer base took time, patience, and consistency. There were many long days and late nights, and as a small business owner, I often wore multiple hats—chef, manager, accountant, marketer, and customer service representative or some time dishwasher.
Despite these obstacles, every challenge became an opportunity to learn and improve. The support of our customers, our commitment to quality, and my passion for sharing authentic Nepali and Indo-Nepalese cuisine kept me motivated. Looking back, those struggles made me a stronger entrepreneur and reinforced my belief that perseverance, hard work, and staying true to your vision can overcome even the toughest obstacles.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Mohmohlicious is a family-owned Indo-Nepalese restaurant dedicated to sharing the authentic flavors and hospitality of Nepal and India with our community. Our mission is simple: to serve fresh, high-quality food made from traditional recipes while creating a welcoming place where people from all backgrounds can experience South Asian cuisine.
We specialize in authentic Nepali momo (dumplings), which are our signature dish and the heart of our menu. From our popular Jhol Momo and C Momo to Kothey Momo, every order is made fresh using quality ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. In addition to momos, we offer a wide variety of Indo-Nepalese favorites, including curries, biryanis, chowmein, thukpa, tandoori dishes, freshly baked naan, and vegetarian and vegan options that appeal to a diverse customer base.
What sets Mohmohlicious apart is our commitment to authenticity, consistency, and innovation. We don’t simply serve Indian food or Nepali food—we bring together the best of both cuisines while staying true to traditional cooking methods and recipes. Many of our dishes are inspired by the street food of Kathmandu and the homemade meals I grew up enjoying in Nepal, giving our customers flavors that are difficult to find elsewhere.
We are most proud of the community we have built. Our customers include families, students, professionals, and food lovers from many different cultures who return because they know they will receive delicious food, generous portions, and friendly service every time. Many first-time guests discover us because of our momo, but they continue exploring our menu and become loyal customers.
Beyond serving great food, Mohmohlicious is about sharing culture and creating connections. Every dish tells a story of tradition, family, and the journey that brought us from Nepal to the United States. We are proud to introduce many people to Nepali cuisine for the first time while providing our South Asian community with the comforting flavors of home.
As we continue to grow, our goal is to make Mohmohlicious a destination for authentic Indo-Nepalese cuisine and to share our culture through exceptional food, outstanding service, and genuine hospitality. We want every customer to leave not only satisfied but excited to return and recommend us to family and friends.

As a business owner, I believe learning never stops. I regularly use technology and business tools to help manage and grow Mohmohlicious. We use our point-of-sale system to monitor sales, customer trends, and inventory, and I rely on Google Reviews and customer feedback to continually improve our food and service
More recently, I’ve been using AI tools like ChatGPT to help with business planning, marketing, menu development, financial planning, and improving customer communication. These tools have helped me become more efficient and make better-informed decisions.
Above all, my greatest source of learning comes from listening to our customers. Their feedback, suggestions, and support have helped shape Mohmohlicious into the restaurant it is today. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new and continue improving our business.
