Hi Lauren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Adam and I met on an airplane prior to COVID and made a cross-state relationship work. Adam comes from a family of entrepreneurs, and I come from a family of business owners, so we combined our skills and started purchasing business resales as we moved from Alabama to Connecticut to Maryland to Pennsylvania and back to Maryland. Our current portfolio includes Image360-Middle River MD and Flower Fashions in Frederick MD.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning a business is the hardest thing you will do and puts the most stress on any relationship. It can be lonely because you don’t always agree with your spouse or business partners and may simply not know what to do. Our biggest struggle has been balancing profit, growth, and speed with serving the Baltimore and Frederick community and our employees along with caring for a 20 month year old and newborn. Adam is skilled in sales and I am skilled in backend operations so we bring different perspectives to running a business. Its a continual challenge to work together but one that makes you better each day. You don’t know what you are truly made of until you focus on serving those around you each day and being the best version of yourself. The business and its customers need the best version of you to show up so you have to be ready.

Flower Fashions is the oldest florist in Frederick having only two prior owners before us. We specialize in the moments people remember most: sympathy and funeral tributes, weddings and corporate events, new babies, anniversaries, get-well arrangements, and the everyday ‘just because’ gifts that mean more than people expect. We also partner closely with local businesses, funeral homes, and assisted living communities, because we understand that timing and sensitivity matter enormously when flowers are part of someone’s hardest day, or their happiest one.
If there’s one thing we want readers to know about our brand, it’s this: our real product isn’t the flowers, it’s trust and providing exceptional value. Generations of Frederick families have chosen us again and again for four decades, and that relationship — built one bouquet, one delivery, one occasion at a time — is what we’re most proud of. Our ownership is focused on retaining this legacy and innovating—moving forward. We have expanded the business to include higher end designs, a complete online store, corporate gifting, event planning, professional organizing, and room refresh services along with weekend hours. We are committed to beautiful spaces, effortless living, and corporate gifting needs for Frederick and surrounding communities.
