Exploring Life & Business with Kimberlyn Cahill of Life’sWork Yoga & Welness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberlyn Cahill.

Hi Kimberlyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Finding yoga after a traumatic bicycle accident, I was lucky to find a local studio and community to guide my search for healing, rest, and recuperation. Reconnecting with my body, mind and spirit through the practice and teachings of yoga, I was able to re-engage and redesign my life. After receiving an invitation to study as a Yoga Teacher, I said, “Yes.” With some specific conditions, like I didn’t want to teach yoga! Obviously a lot has changed!

Seeking out a diverse team of teachers and guides, I dived into the philosophies and principles of yoga. This study continues today. Through vigorous and dedicated study, I discovered a language and a practice that renewed my spirit, restored my body and mind, and reassembled my broken life strategy into a beautiful collage of love and joy.

After decades of over-commitment, perfection and anxiety, I unintentionally began to redesign my life through the practice of yoga. I started to SHIFT!

Whether on the mat, in an aerial silk, or about town on her bicycle, I serve as a Companion Guide for cultivating a life of joy, authenticity and connection. With light-hearted humor, a positive attitude, and a smile, I foster inspiration, self-discovery and transformation through my Inspired Living somatic coaching, mentoring, and teaching. Fundamentally, I believe life is an invitation to discover (remember!) one’s authentic self and to connect with others in community. I support yoga practitioners to live fully and teach, with emphasis on customization and adaptation, a daily practice of living intimately with inspiration and joy.

As an experienced teacher and business owner, I bring diverse experience and a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to the art and craft of living purposefully and laboring lovingly. With over forty years of teaching, facilitating and leading group learning, in formal and informal classrooms, for students of all ages, my work as a coach, mentor, and trainer offers practical, accessible guidance for energizing life’s work.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh, boy. What hasn’t been a challenge is a shorter answer. I’ve endured numerous health challenges and multiple surgeries, COVID shut down and slow recovery in my community, as well as multiple studio relocations. In fact, I’m currently navigating a renovation for relocation in the hopes of a permanent home for the studio and community.
Building and growing my practice and the studio while raising a family and partnering with my husband of 26 years, has been challenging and rewarding. Add to that the grief and recent death of my mom to Alzheimers, and it’s a lot!
However, I will say, all of the challenges and even the joys along the way informed my practice and challenged the status quo, requiring intentional navigation and creative problem solving.

As you know, we’re big fans of Life’sWork Yoga & Welness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Life’sWork Yoga, we do yoga differently. I say that a little tongue in cheek. As a yoga therapy studio, we help individuals improve physical wellness, reduce stress, build resilience, and reconnect with their purpose through therapeutic yoga, somatic coaching, yoga therapy, and wellness programs.
We love to support those seeking relief from chronic stress, recovering from injury, navigating a life transition, or simply looking for greater balance, our personalized approach supports lasting transformation.
We teach yoga, and by that I mean we teach breathing techniques, postures and meditation, but we also frame the practice in the context of soothing the nervous system and healing the imbalances and misalignments of daily living. We teach a simple, accessible practice to Breathe, Move & Rest grounded in the principles of INSPIRED SHIFT! We support intentional self-care and share real-life skills for authenticity, connection, and alignment to build the daily PRACTICES of INSPIRED LIVING through yoga practice, mind-body treatments, coaching & training. We seek to guide those ready for something new, those yearning for change, and those seeking passion and purpose in daily life. I’m a nut shell, we support the personalized self-care for our students and clients to live more vibrantly.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck may open a door, but lasting well-being is created through intention, practice, and presence. Karma is the Sanskrit word that refers to the universal energy of cause and effect, or what we put out into the world comes back to us in kind. At Life’sWork Yoga & Wellness, we are committed to spreading positive karma through compassion and joy. We believe that meaningful change doesn’t happen by chance, it grows through small, consistent choices to breathe, move, rest, and care for one’s self. Rather than waiting for good luck, we cultivate resilience, awareness, and the conditions that allow us to thrive, whatever life brings.
