Exploring Life & Business with Ele Margelos of Ele Soccer Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ele Margelos.

Hi Ele, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got started loving the game at 3 1/2 when I was introduced to a soccer ball. Never looked back. Played on various teams growing up. I went on to play in college at Gardner-Webb University for all 4 years. Unfortunately, injuries happened and didn’t get to end my career how I wanted to. I was mad at the game for a little after I graduated, but I know that this game kills and saves me at the same time. I can’t stay away for a long time.

I went the coaching route. I was coaching at Bethesda soccer club, coached at Quince Orchard Hs as an assistant. In 2018 I was blessed to have gotten a head coach position at Washington Adventist University. Enjoyed my time there, met great people, learned a lot on and off the pitch. However, I kept seeing this Men’s team train twice a week after our training. They looked organized, professional, and THEY COULD PLAY! I got the courage to ask the Coach if I could join. He said, “ yes jump in”. I was surprised because a lot of men don’t want women playing with them. I got my itch back and I wanted to try and go pro at 28. I trained with this coach 6 sometimes 7 days a week. I watched my diet, I did my recovery. I was doing everything that a pro does. I never thought I could get to where I got. The transformation was incredible. I had the discipline, consistency, passion, and talent. I was talking to clubs to get a trial, BUT COVID hit. I never got the chance. I was so close, but the Lord gave me another path to go on. It was tough to get over that feeling of failure. It took me a long time to understand why. I put everything into that goal and fell short.
Fast forward to 2025 I said to myself why not take this soccer coaching a little more seriously and start my own private training business. I have learned a lot throughout this process, I have so much knowledge to give and to teach to this younger generation. So I started my soccer business. I train all ages both boys and girls. I have sessions just for women that I named ballHERS. I hold sessions for footballers as well that is both men and women. Along with that I recently started a youth club with my mentor called international Futbol Club.
I feel it’s my duty now to teach and inspire whoever I come across. That pain of not making it to the next level made me have doubt, but that doubt became motivation. Motivation became a plan that turned into action. That action turned into execution. I am blessed to do what I do and the success I have had already. To be continued…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s is never a smooth road. You will get a lot of disappointments, a lot of no’s especially if you’re a woman. Unfortunately, some just don’t give you a chance because you’re a woman especially in this field, but they don’t know what you are capable of. I failed a lot before I found some success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ele Soccer Training ?
I specialize in 1:1 training and group training. I am known for the coach that gets the players brains tired more than anything. I work with all ages both boys and girls. What sets me apart from others is my training is a little different than most here. You will have to train with me to find out!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
You need to be a good facilitator and teacher. You also need passion, care, discipline, consistency, firmness, to be fair, and fun.
