Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica McCoy.
Veronica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Perfect Finish started with a simple belief: confidence isn’t limited by gender. Every person deserves to feel polished, powerful, and put together—no matter what their day looks like.
What began as a love for lip products quickly turned into something bigger. I was mixing shades, testing formulas, and paying attention to how the right lipstick could instantly shift your mood. A bold red could make you feel powerful. A soft nude could make you feel effortless. A gloss could make you feel playful and fresh.
I realized it wasn’t just about makeup—it was about the feeling.
Perfect Finish was created to be that final touch. The detail that completes the look. The swipe of confidence before a meeting. The pop of color before date night. The gloss you throw on when you’re booked, busy, and still showing up.
From day one, the mission has been to create shades that complement real life—romantic moments, self-love seasons, everyday hustle, and everything in between.
Perfect Finish isn’t just about lip products.
It’s about confidence you can wear.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No — it hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but it’s definitely been a meaningful one.
Building Perfect Finish came with a learning curve. From understanding product development and sourcing quality formulas, to managing inventory, packaging, and branding — there were moments where I had to figure things out in real time. As a growing beauty brand, you wear every hat: creator, marketer, customer service, content director, and CEO.
One of the biggest struggles was visibility. You can have an amazing product, but getting people to see it, trust it, and try it takes consistency and strategy. Social media algorithms change, engagement fluctuates, and building a community requires patience.
There were also moments of doubt — wondering if I was doing enough, growing fast enough, or reaching the right audience. But those challenges strengthened the brand. They forced me to refine the message, improve the product experience, and stay grounded in the mission.
Every obstacle helped shape Perfect Finish into what it is today — not just a lipstick brand, but a brand rooted in confidence, resilience, and showing up even when the road isn’t perfect.
Because sometimes the journey isn’t smooth… but the finish always is.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Perfect Finish Lip Wear, we specialize in creating hand-made lip products that elevate everyday moments. We focus on lipsticks and glosses designed to complement real life — whether you’re headed to work, on a date, celebrating your friends, or simply choosing yourself.
Our specialty is creating shades that feel wearable, intentional, and confidence-boosting. Every color is curated to enhance natural beauty while still making a statement. We don’t just create products — we create experiences tied to emotion, storytelling, and self-expression.
We’re known for smooth, comfortable formulas, shades that flatter and feel effortless, lip products that transition seamlessly from everyday wear to special moments
Our brand voice consistently connects lipstick to real-life experiences, which helps our customers see themselves in the product.
I’m most proud of building a brand that feels intentional and personal. From the shade names to the campaigns, everything has meaning. I’m proud that Perfect Finish represents confidence, resilience, and showing up fully — even while growing behind the scenes.
I’m also proud of the community that’s forming around the brand. Seeing women and men feel empowered in our shades reminds me why I started.
What sets us apart is the storytelling. Many brands sell lipstick. We connect lipstick to emotion and everyday life. Every collection has a purpose.
Perfect Finish isn’t about chasing trends — it’s about creating timeless confidence. It’s that final touch that pulls everything together.
No matter the occasion, your look — and your confidence — deserves a Perfect Finish
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Yes, starting Perfect Finish was a significant risk. Launching a beauty brand in a competitive industry required investing in quality products, packaging, and branding without knowing exactly how the market would respond. I chose to bet on the vision and the standard I wanted the brand to represent.
I don’t view risk as impulsive — I see it as strategic growth. To me, risk means stepping forward with preparation, purpose, and the willingness to adjust along the way.
Growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones. Every move I’ve made has been intentional and rooted in building a brand that helps women feel confident, polished, and empowered.
