Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Champegnie.
Hi Precious, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of resilience, creativity, and refusing to be defined by limitations. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up, I faced challenges that taught me the importance of perseverance, independence, and believing in myself, even when the odds weren’t necessarily in my favor.
I’ve always had a passion for storytelling and bringing ideas to life. That passion led me to become an author, publishing my novel Dreams of a Bad Bitch under my pen name, Champagne Couture. Writing gave me a creative outlet and eventually inspired me to explore storytelling from another perspective—acting.
I began pursuing opportunities in independent films and web series, gaining experience both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. One of my roles includes portraying Officer Tracy Winters in Project Heat Baltimore. Each project has helped me grow as an actress, build confidence, and develop a deeper appreciation for the entertainment industry.
At the same time, I’ve built a professional career in web development and cybersecurity, proving to myself that I don’t have to limit my ambitions to one field. Whether I’m writing a novel, developing a website, or stepping onto a film set, my goal is always to create something meaningful.
Today, I’m continuing to build my acting career, expand my creative projects, and establish myself as a multifaceted entrepreneur and storyteller. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I know I’m just getting started. More than anything, I want my journey to inspire others to understand that where you start doesn’t determine how far you can go.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change my journey because every challenge has played a part in shaping the woman I am today.
I was born with hydrocephalus, a neurological condition that presented challenges early in my life. Growing up, I had to learn how to navigate obstacles that weren’t always visible to others. There were moments when I questioned myself, struggled with confidence, and wondered whether some of my dreams were realistic. But I’ve always had this determination to prove that my circumstances don’t define my capabilities.
Another challenge has been balancing multiple passions while trying to build a career and create opportunities for myself. Working in technology, pursuing my education, writing books, and stepping into the entertainment industry hasn’t always been easy. There have been sacrifices, setbacks, closed doors, and moments when I felt like I was starting over.
Breaking into acting has also taught me patience. The entertainment industry can be unpredictable, especially when you’re building your career independently. You have to learn to handle rejection, put yourself out there, and keep believing in your talent even when opportunities aren’t coming as quickly as you’d like.
One of my biggest lessons has been learning not to compare my timeline to anyone else’s. I’ve realized that success isn’t always about how quickly you reach your destination; sometimes it’s about having the courage to keep going.
I’ve had moments when life tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally, but I’ve also discovered strength I didn’t know I had. I try to turn those experiences into something meaningful, whether through my writing, acting, or simply encouraging someone else.
My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s mine. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can experience setbacks without allowing them to become the end of your story. I’m still growing, still learning, and still becoming the woman I’ve always envisioned.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I consider myself a multifaceted creative, entrepreneur, and storyteller. I’m an actress, published author, web developer, and cybersecurity professional, and while those careers may seem completely different, they all connect through my passion for creativity, problem-solving, and bringing ideas to life.
Professionally, I work in web development, specializing in creating and maintaining digital experiences that connect people with information, services, and brands. My background in technology has given me a unique perspective on business, branding, and the importance of building a strong digital presence.
Creatively, I’m passionate about storytelling, particularly stories that explore resilience, identity, relationships, survival, and personal transformation. I write under the pen name Champagne Couture and published my novel Dreams of a Bad Bitch, a story that explores how a young woman overcomes difficult circumstances to reclaim her identity and build a life on her own terms. Through my publishing company, Tell Our Vision Publishing, I hope to continue creating opportunities for meaningful stories to be told.
As an actress, I’ve appeared in independent films and web series, including portraying Officer Tracy Winters in Project Heat Baltimore. I enjoy bringing complex, authentic characters to life, especially strong women whose stories aren’t always black and white. I’m continuing to expand my experience in the entertainment industry, both as a performer and as a creator developing my own projects.
What I’m most proud of isn’t necessarily one accomplishment. It’s the fact that I’ve continued to pursue my dreams despite the challenges I’ve faced. Being born with hydrocephalus, navigating personal obstacles, building a career in technology, pursuing higher education, publishing my work, and stepping into acting have all required determination. I’m proud that I never allowed myself to be placed in a box.
I believe what sets me apart is my ability to combine creativity with technical knowledge and real-life experience. I understand both the artistic and business sides of building something from the ground up. I can write the story, help bring it to the screen, develop the brand, and build the digital platform to support it.
More importantly, I bring authenticity to everything I do. I don’t believe success has to look one particular way, and I don’t believe you have to choose just one dream.
Ultimately, I want to be known as a woman who created her own opportunities, told stories that mattered, and inspired others to recognize the power of their own potential. I’m not interested in fitting into one category. I’m interested in building a legacy.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest advice when it comes to finding a mentor or networking is to be genuine, intentional, and willing to put yourself in rooms where you can learn and grow. Sometimes we get so focused on what someone can do for us that we forget networking is really about building relationships, not just making connections.
One thing that has worked well for me is being open to opportunities outside of my comfort zone. Whether it’s in technology, publishing, or entertainment, I’ve learned that you never know which conversation, introduction, or opportunity might open a door. I’ve also learned the importance of showing up prepared, being professional, and following through. People remember how you make them feel, but they also remember your work ethic.
When it comes to mentorship, I believe you should look for people who are not only successful in the areas you’re pursuing but who also demonstrate the values and integrity you admire. A mentor doesn’t necessarily have to be someone with a big name or impressive title. Sometimes the person who offers you the most valuable guidance is someone who’s simply a few steps ahead of you and willing to share what they’ve learned.
I’ve also learned that networking should never be one-sided. Support other people’s projects, celebrate their accomplishments, share resources, and offer your own knowledge when you can. Some of the most meaningful relationships are built when you’re not expecting anything in return.
And don’t be afraid to introduce yourself or ask questions. I’ve had to learn that being talented isn’t always enough. You have to be willing to advocate for yourself and let people know what you bring to the table.
If I could leave anyone with one piece of advice, it would be this: Don’t just network to get into the room. Build relationships that make people want to keep you in the room. Be authentic, remain teachable, and never underestimate the value of a good reputation.
