Today we’d like to introduce you to Pat Renny Alzadon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started when I picked up a guitar in middle school. During that time, I was really into the movie “School Of Rock” and watching kids that were round my age start a rock band with Jack Black made me want to start a group of my own. So my middle school dance, me and a couple classmates performed a couple covers like “Stacy’s Mom” and “1985”. When I was in high school, I got a message on MySpace from someone telling me about wanting to start a band called Face The Day. It was a fun learning experience from 2008 to 2012. After the group broke up, I auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2014 and started performing open mics while recording my first two EP’s. Fast forward to now, I have been performing venues around the DMV area with a live band promoting songs from my third EP “Best in Me” as well as my latest albums “Driven” and “Up From Here”.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life itself can be a roller coaster and being an independent artist definitely has its pros and cons. Getting to where I am now wasn’t easily handed to me. I had to work for it and the more I’ve been in this music scene, the more I’ve experienced jealous people who have always tried to bring me down. But I know I have a great team, loyal fans, and close friends I can lean on whenever things get tough.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m known for being a singer/ songwriter from Baltimore Maryland. What I’m currently most proud of is my latest album “Up From Here”. My latest album took 2 years to make and some of my favorite songs off that album are my absolute favorites. I think what sets me apart from others is challenging myself in trying different styles of music each album while staying true to music I believe in.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been the shy kid growing up. I wasn’t really the most popular. I was definitely bullied and especially had jealous peers because I did music. But looking back now, I wanna tell that kid to keep showing up because all that work will pay off someday.
