Conversations with Leeann Randow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leeann Randow.

Hi Leeann, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Mala Mantis became a practice 3 years ago, and began as a fledgling private practice with only myself as a clinician. Over the past three years, we’ve added 11 other clinicians to the practice, focusing on bringing high quality, holistic and individualized trauma-informed care to our community. We specifically focus on supporting families navigating the transition into parenthood and perinatal moms. This is work we care deeply about, and are grateful to our clients for allowing us to walk their therapeutic journey with them.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. There are growing pains as you venture from a solo practitioner to a group practice. I’ve had to learn from my previous experiences as a clinical director and supervisor, integrating the leadership approaches that feel authentic to me, and learn the business side of things along the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For my personal caseload, I specialize in working with perinatal parents, particularly those who’ve experienced perinatal loss. I also work with first responders, which is a community I’ve worked with throughout my career. I’m most proud of the team I have built, and truly appreciate each person on my team. I’m also really proud of the work I do with clients, and the relationship I’ve built with each of them. It’s really amazing to see their growth over time, and I feel like our authentic presence with clients, as well as our skill set, is what sets us apart from other practices.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Integrity and collaboration mean the most to me. I think that in supporting others, both clients and our community, it allows us to be genuine in the work that we do. By being open about our abilities, forging connections with others in our line of work and creating positive referral sources for our clients, it allows us to give them the best care possible.
