Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Lewis.
Hi Karen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Below are separate blurbs pulled from our website – tiddlypomcards.com and online shop that should cover all the info.
Karen
Owner
Card making has been my passion for 20 years. After a long and winding road, I get to share that passion alongside the love of my life. I handcraft every card — especially our Winnie the Pooh collection — with my whole heart.
Rick
Owner
Music, art and building things have been my lifelong passions. A disabled Veteran who found his way back to the love of his life in 2023 — I now channel all of it into building something we are both proud of.

Two High School Sweethearts, Decades Apart, Now Making Cards About What Matters Most
Why We Do This
We’re not here to mass-produce hollow sentiments. We’re here to help you say what matters — beautifully. We know firsthand that love, friendship and connection are fragile, precious and worth celebrating. Every card we create is built around identity and emotion — who your person is, what they love, and why they matter to you.
From our beloved Winnie the Pooh collection to gothic designs, heartfelt messages and a little snark when it’s called for — every card has its own personality, just like the person receiving it.
Our Story
Rick and Karen first met in high school — and shared something rare. Life pulled them apart for decades, sending them each down separate roads filled with their own challenges, heartbreaks and growth. In 2023 fate brought them back together, rekindling a connection that had never truly gone away. Now happily married, they channel their shared journey into every card they make.
Karen, a proud woman business owner with over 20 years of card making experience, handcrafts every single card in the USA with the kind of care that only comes from someone who truly loves what they do.
Rick, a disabled Veteran and lifelong creative, handles design and the business side.
When two people who understand loss, love and second chances make cards about those exact things — you can feel it.
Our Mission
To create timeless handmade cards that don’t just say something nice — but say something true. Every card should tell a story, stir emotion, and leave the recipient thinking “Wow, they really know me.”
Our Promise
Handcrafted Quality — No shortcuts. Just heart, skill, and a dash of snark when appropriate.
Made for Your People — Whether sweet, sentimental, or a little sassy, every card is made with them in mind.
Customer Happiness First — If it’s not what you hoped for, we’ll make it right. Always.
We are honored to be part of your milestones, memories and the moments in between. Every order includes an exclusive discount for our main shop — where new arrivals and special savings land first.

Karen, a proud woman business owner, and Rick, a disabled veteran, first met in high school. They shared a deep connection and dated for 3.5 years, dreaming of a future together. However, life took an unexpected turn causing them to part ways which led to decades of challenges and heartbreak that tested their strength and shaped their characters.
In 2023, fate brought them back together, and they rekindled their love with a soul-deep connection that had never gone away. Their love is a testament to perseverance, hope, and the enduring power of true connection. Now happily married, they channel their shared journey into creating unique one-of-a-kind handmade greeting cards.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall things have been as normal as they can be with starting a new business. Some ups and some downs but lots of learning which has allowed us to keep growing and improving our business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a college graduate from Baltimore County Community College and have been employed by Baltimore County for 25 years. I started with the Health Department – WIC when I started college. As I neared the end of my schooling, I began working for Permits, Approvals and Inspections. The last three years I have been working with DPW&T – Engineering & Construction, Sewer Design Section where I am an a Project Manager/Engineering Associate III. I enjoy my job but especially working for the public. I enjoy helping and assisting residents and businesses with all aspects of their projects. I am known as the person “who gets things done” and “goes above and beyond for the County”.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
When I am working, I use many different programs in order to handle my job. Some of my favorite programs are CADD (Computer Aid Drafting & Design) in order to create and update drawings for my projects, and Bluebeam which allows me to mark up and create documentation for my projects. I use all social media apps including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. I enjoy watching YouTube videos in my spare time to learn new techniques for card making. Especially the live videos from Taylored Expressions and Gina K Designs because they show how techniques can be used in many different ways. I enjoy researching card designs to keep me inspired as I create handmade greeting cards. Each time I find new techniques or ideas, I can’t wait to try them. It’s a challenge sometimes but a challenge that I enjoy. I’m always ready to learn something new and apply it my life. That is the same with my job. Everyday is a day to learn something new!
