Hi Marvin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My father originally started the company, so landscaping has always been more than just a business to me — it’s something built on family, hard work, and pride in the community. When I took over, I wanted to honor the foundation he created while also taking the company in a new direction.
I rebranded the business as M Marquez Landscape Solutions and focused on bringing it up to speed with today’s technology and modern customer expectations. That meant improving communication, organization, scheduling, branding, and the overall customer experience.
My goal has always been to respect where the company came from while preparing it for the future. Today, we still carry the same values the company was built on — honesty, hard work, and quality service — but we combine them with modern tools and a forward-thinking approach to better serve our clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Running a business is hard, especially coming from a background in construction and safety, where the focus is on the job site, the crews, and making sure the work is done correctly and safely.
When my father was running the company, most of the business came from door-to-door work and word of mouth. That foundation was important because it taught us the value of reputation, trust, and doing quality work. When I took over, I wanted to build on that while also moving the company forward.
We still believe in traditional ways of connecting with people, including door-to-door outreach, but I also brought in online marketing, a company website, and a more professional digital presence. I also expanded the business beyond residential work into commercial services, which opened the door for new opportunities and growth.
One of the biggest challenges was learning the business side — branding, communication, marketing, pricing, scheduling, and managing growth. It took time and a lot of learning, but those struggles helped shape me as a business owner. Every challenge has pushed me to adapt, improve, and build a company that respects where it came from while preparing for the future.

M Marquez Landscape Solutions is a family-rooted, second-generation landscaping company built on hard work, trust, and quality service. My father originally started the company with residential work, door-to-door outreach, and word of mouth. When I took over, I wanted to honor that foundation while also growing the company into something more modern, professional, and prepared for the future.
We provide residential and commercial landscaping services, including lawn care, landscape maintenance, cleanups, property improvements, and solutions that help homes and businesses look their best. What we are known for is reliability, attention to detail, and taking pride in every property we work on.
What sets us apart is that we combine traditional work ethic with today’s technology. We still believe in personal relationships, honest work, and earning trust, but we have also added online marketing, a company website, stronger communication, and better systems to improve the customer experience.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that M Marquez Landscape Solutions represents growth, family legacy, and the future of the company. It shows how we can respect where we came from while continuing to improve, expand, and serve both residential and commercial clients.
What I want readers to know is that we are more than just a landscaping company. We are a business that cares about our clients, our community, and the quality of our work. Our goal is to provide dependable service, professional results, and landscaping solutions people can feel confident in.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to continue growing M Marquez Landscape Solutions into a company that can compete with larger landscaping companies while still keeping the personal service, pride, and family values that got us here.
I want to prove that a smaller company can play against the “big boys” in the landscaping industry by being professional, reliable, and willing to adapt. That means continuing to invest in better systems, more technology, stronger marketing, and a larger team.
One of my biggest goals is to train and develop staff so they can grow with the company. I want to have more trucks on the road, more crews working, and more opportunities for people who want to build a future in this industry.
I am proud of how much the company has grown since I officially started in March. Taking something my father started and bringing it into a new era has been a big responsibility, but it has also been very rewarding. One of the things that means the most to me is that my father is already happy with what I have done in such a short amount of time.
