Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Leu.
Christie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For 15 years, I made and sold original, functional, fine crafts. After completing several major renovations to a series of my own and friends’ homes, I turned my expertise with color, composition, and organization into a degree in Interior Design with a specialization in Kitchen & Bath Design. I finished my formal education with 3 internships; first with an architectural firm, second a kitchen designer and finally an interior design firm.
I grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where I developed an appreciation for wonderful architecture and design. I currently live in Chevy Chase, MD, home base to my family of five children (which includes a set of triplets!). Family organization for professional parents is one of my strengths..
I really enjoy the daunting and complicated process of home improvements and decoration. My clients tell me that my passion is contagious!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every day and every project is a new challenge. I love learning, and searching for unique solutions for each of my individual homeowners. I cultivate relationships with my vendors and contractors, then match these wonderful artisans and sources to each project. It has taken time and effort to build my knowledge and relationships over the years. We have learned how to listen and see what each homeowner needs and wants to make their home a sanction for their families. Collaborative partnerships with trades are the strength of each project. Our combined skills serve as checks and balances. Mistakes are caught before they are realized. I’m grateful for the trust of my homeowners and trade partners.

When you work with us, we pull in our entire team of skilled architects, contractors, designers, and craftspeople to develop a design concept, get your approval, and get to work. From collaborating on construction plans and selecting elegant finishes to designing and sourcing custom upholstery, window treatments, lighting, furniture, and decor, we ensure that every detail of your project is fully addressed.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
As a business owner who works many hours, I felt I needed to connect with my design community to share resources, support and comaraderie. In 2019, I sent invitations to about 50 DC area designers who wanted to connect and learn. Since then we have met every month for 6+ years. At first in person, and then by zoom after covid. Each meeting has a topic and we often invite experts to coach, demonstrate and display the infinite aspects of business ownership and the interior design universe. This makes us all better designers, business owners and communicators with deeper shared resources.

- I charge hourly. I feel this is the best way to serve my homeowners needs fully as their projects proceed.
- Our firm sources, procures, stores and installs all furnishings and finishes for projects. This insures the most seemless installation and hassle free renovation and decorating experience.
