Today we’d like to introduce you to Chamille Cash.
Hi Chamille, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up, I was extremely shy and struggled with anxiety. I hated being the center of attention. I didn’t even want people singing “Happy Birthday” because all eyes would be on me. I started dancing in church, and it became the thing that helped me break out of my shell and explore life beyond my comfort zone. I still remember my first solo!
Over time, my love of music, creativity, and storytelling led me to photography. My dad was always the one taking pictures at family gatherings and events, and without realizing it, he helped spark my appreciation for capturing memories. I also spent time modeling, which gave me a unique understanding of what it feels like to be vulnerable in front of a camera.
Today, I own Cash Captures, where I specialize in portraits, branding, headshots, and event photography. Looking back, it’s funny how life comes full circle. The girl who once avoided attention now spends her time meeting strangers, helping them feel confident, and creating space for them to shine. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a published photography business built on connection, confidence, and storytelling.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? Definitely not. One of the biggest lessons I had to learn early on was not to compare my journey to someone else’s. It’s easy to look at other photographers and focus on what they’re doing, what equipment they have, or how quickly they seem to be growing. Over time, I realized that comparison only distracts you from your own progress and vision.
I’ve also learned that just because you’re a photographer doesn’t mean you have to photograph everything. Early on, I said yes to opportunities simply because I thought I should. As I gained experience, I realized it’s okay to focus on my niche and the experience I want to create for my clients.
Another challenge has been balancing multiple responsibilities. In addition to running Cash Captures, I work full-time, operate a business consulting service, and I am wife. Managing multiple roles requires discipline, consistency, and a willingness to keep showing up, even on the busiest days.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in portraits, branding, headshots, and event photography. My goal is to create images that not only look beautiful but also create a memorable experience. Whether I’m working with a business owner, a family, or someone celebrating a milestone, I want them to walk away with more than great photos. I want them to leave feeling excited about who they are.
What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has on people. Some of my favorite moments happen when clients see themselves in a way they never have before. As someone who once struggled with shyness and anxiety, helping others step in front of the camera with a greater sense of ease and self-assurance is especially meaningful to me.
What sets me apart is the experience I create. My clients often describe me as their personal hype woman because I bring energy, encouragement, and genuine excitement to every session. When people feel comfortable, it shows in the final images. More importantly, that feeling often lasts long after the session is over. Photography is about more than taking pictures. It’s about helping people celebrate who they are and see themselves in a new light.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to keep going. There have been seasons when growth felt slow, opportunities didn’t come as quickly as I hoped, or I questioned whether I was on the right path. Over time, I learned that success isn’t about perfection. It’s about consistency. Every photoshoot, every connection, and every step forward builds on the last. As we often say at church, “Keep going.” That mindset has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and it’s something I carry into every area of my life. So, if you’re ever feeling stuck, KEEP GOING!
