Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Stelfox.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Basketball was my first love. I was fortunate enough to play at the collegiate level and eventually pursue my dream of playing professionally overseas. But my passion went far beyond the game itself. I was obsessed with understanding how to become the best athlete I could be, both mentally and physically. Unfortunately, my basketball career came to an end due to a severe lower back injury. Looking back, I realize how much I wish I had been given the proper training, education, and guidance throughout my athletic career. I truly believe that with the right knowledge and approach, my story on the court could have been very different, that experience ultimately became my purpose. I became a personal trainer because I never want someone else to go through what I did. I know firsthand what it’s like to have something you love taken away because your body can no longer keep up with your passion. Today, my mission is so much bigger than helping people look good or lift heavier weights. It’s about educating, empowering, and helping people build stronger, healthier, more resilient bodies. We only got one body, and how we take care of it matters. My basketball career may have ended, but my passion for helping others reach their full potential was just beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my biggest challenges was having my career cut short due to a sever lower back injury, losing something that I dedicated my entire life to was devastating, both mentally and physically. But the setback ultimately gave me new purpose. I turned my pain into passion and made it my mission to help others become stronger, healthier, and avoid the same mistakes and injuries I experienced. What once felt like my biggest failure became my greatest motivation,
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a NASM certified personal trainer and strength coach with over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. As a former collegiate and professional athlete, I bring firsthand athletic experience, passion, and a deep understanding of what it takes to become stronger both mentally and physically.
I specialize in strength and conditioning, sports performance, weight loss, and helping individuals build confidence through fitness. My personal journey is what sets me apart from others. I don’t believe in simply putting someone through a workout. I believe in teaching them WHY they’re doing it and how to do it correctly. What I am most proud of is the impact I have on people’s lives. Seeing someone become stronger and more confident is beyond rewarding.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is to never stop learning, never be afraid to ask questions, and always invest in yourself. Surround y9ourself with people who challenge you, educate you, and genuinely want to see you succeed. One thing I wish I knew earlier is that working harder doesn’t always mean working smarter. Proper technique, education, consistency, and recovery are just as important as the work itself. Most importantly, don’t compare your journey to someone else’s. Progress takes time, and setbacks are inevitable. I’ve learned that somethings the biggest obstacles lead you to your greatest purpose. Be patient, stay passionate, trust the process, and never forget why you started.
