Meet Cierra Blake of Clutch department

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Blake.

Hi Cierra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been the one to come in clutch when it matters most . Which is how i received the nick name “Clutch” . Then i decided to make Clutch into a brand for people who also come in clutch. It’s more than just a brand it’s a community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve went through challenges in the beginning for sure . Dealing with people over seas that don’t speak the same language efficiently can be a little challenging. Also i’ve rushed through a lot of things and instead of getting samples i went straight to bulk which caused me to waste a lot of unnecessary money bc things weren’t fitted how i imagined them to be .

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Clutch Department is a Baltimore-based streetwear est in 2025. It’s built around creativity, confidence, and showing up for your community.

What sets Clutch Dept apart is the personality behind each piece. I love playing with bold color combinations, unique graphics, and details that give people a way to express their own style. My goal is to create clothes that make you feel good and stand out when you put them on.

What I’m most proud of is building a brand that represents where I’m from and seeing people support and wear something I created. I want Clutch Dept to bring people together while inspiring others to chase their own goals.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Ayo boutique and Tmz baltimore are both motivation for me when it comes to content . I stopped doing content for a few years but they both motivated me to start it back up . Also my uncle Bernard pushes me to do my best he’s big motivation he owns his own brand as well as being certified for 100 plus other things !
