Meet Tebonye Crawford of Zinnia Virgo Soaps, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tebonye Crawford.

Tebonye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey with Zinnia Virgo Soaps, LLC began with a passion for creating handmade soaps and body-care products and a desire to help people feel more confident and comfortable in their skin. What started as a creative passion grew into a bigger vision: building a brand that makes self-care meaningful while offering thoughtfully crafted products for a variety of skin-care needs.

As a woman Veteran entrepreneur, I brought determination, discipline, and a willingness to keep pushing forward into my business journey. However, I quickly learned that creating great products was only the beginning. I also had to develop my skills in marketing, advertising, branding, and sales to build a strong business foundation and get my products in front of the people who could benefit from them.

The journey has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, pursue new opportunities, build relationships, and become more confident in sharing my story. Along the way, Zinnia Virgo Soaps, LLC has gained recognition through features in Link2Us, Girl’s Life, and Willow & Sage magazines, as well as an appearance on Tabitha Brown’s Very Good Monday Show.

Today, I continue to grow my brand, strengthen my business, and pursue opportunities to introduce my products to a wider audience. My vision is to take Zinnia Virgo Soaps beyond where it is today and establish it as a recognizable body-care brand known for creativity, quality, and a commitment to self-care.

My journey has taught me that success isn’t just about having a great idea; it’s about resilience, continuous learning, and being willing to grow into the entrepreneur your vision requires you to become. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited about what lies ahead. I’m not just building a business—I’m building a legacy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, the journey has not always been a smooth road. Building Zinnia Virgo Soaps, LLC has taught me that having a passion for creating quality body-care products is only one part of running a successful business. One of my biggest struggles has been learning how to effectively market, advertise, and sell my products while building brand awareness and reaching the right audience.

As a woman Veteran entrepreneur, I’ve had to step outside my comfort zone, learn new business skills, and find ways to get my brand noticed in a competitive industry. There have been challenges, disappointments, and moments when I’ve had to reevaluate my approach and figure out my next move. I’ve learned that just because you believe in your products doesn’t mean people will automatically discover them. You have to be willing to promote your business, tell your story, build relationships, and consistently pursue new opportunities.

One of my greatest challenges has been strengthening the business foundation behind the creativity. I’ve had to shift my mindset from simply being a product creator to becoming a marketer, salesperson, brand ambassador, and business owner. That transition has required patience, persistence, and a willingness to keep learning.

Through it all, I’ve refused to let the challenges define my journey or cause me to abandon my vision. Instead, I’ve used them as motivation to become more intentional about growing Zinnia Virgo Soaps, LLC and expanding its reach. Every obstacle has taught me something about business, myself, and the importance of perseverance.

My journey is still unfolding, but I’m proud that I continue to show up, pursue opportunities, and work toward my goals. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never experiencing setbacks; it’s about finding the strength to keep moving forward, even when the road gets difficult. My mission is bigger than the challenges I face, and I remain committed to building Zinnia Virgo Soaps into the successful, recognizable body-care brand I know it can become.
