Daily Inspiration: Meet Esther Adesipo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Adesipo.

Hi Esther , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey with hair started long before I ever thought of turning it into a business. As a little girl growing up in Nigeria, I started by doing my mum’s and sisters’ hair. Eventually, I began doing hair for my mum’s workers, then family and friends. What started as something I simply enjoyed doing slowly grew into a passion. In 2017, my family and I moved to the United States, where I continued developing my skills and building my clientele. In 2020, I took a bigger step toward turning my passion into a business, and in 2022, my sister joined me. Although I had years of hands-on experience, I knew there was still so much more to learn. In 2024, I enrolled in cosmetology school to expand my knowledge beyond braiding and become a more versatile stylist. I completed my 1,500-hour program in September 2025 and officially became a licensed cosmetologist in January 2026. Today, I’m the proud founder of Orí Ade Beauty Salon, and I’m continuing to grow as a stylist and entrepreneur while working toward expanding my brand into hair extensions. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how something that started with me doing my mum’s hair as a little girl has grown into what it is today. I’m still learning and growing, but I’m incredibly grateful for how far God has brought me and excited for what’s ahead.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing school, work, and running a business while navigating life as a young adult. There have been moments of self-doubt, feeling overwhelmed, and learning things the hard way, especially when it comes to managing clients, finances, and the business side of things.
Through it all, my faith in God and the support of my family have kept me going. I’ve learned that growth takes time, and every challenge has taught me something valuable. I’m still learning, but I’m grateful for how far I’ve come.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist and the founder of Orí Ade Beauty Salon, where I specialize in luxury braids, sew-ins, protective styling, and healthy hair care. I take pride in being a versatile stylist, whether it’s creating intricate braided styles, achieving a nice sew-in, or helping clients maintain the health of their natural hair.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail, my willingness to keep learning, and the care I put into every service. I believe hairstyles should never come at the expense of healthy hair. I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients and the growth I’ve experienced over the years. Being able to turn something I’ve loved since childhood into a career and a growing brand is something I’ll never take for granted.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very playful and outgoing child. I was a pretty good kid, or at least I’d like to think so, lolll. I loved spending time outside playing with my friends and neighbors back home in Nigeria. I also enjoyed playing with my dolls, especially styling their hair, which is funny to look back on now, considering the career path I’ve chosen. I was always a happy, curious child who loved being around people and trying new things.
