Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Auvil.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for photography started in high school when I decided to take a photography class as an elective! Shortly after I realized I had a pretty good eye for photography so I started a facebook page and persuaded my friends to let me take their photos. After high school, the chaos of life and figuring out the next steps of my future caught up to me and I wasn’t really focused on taking photos much. On and off over the next 10 years id pick up the camera again here and there.
Fast forward to 2023, I left my corporate job of 7 years and started helping a friend with their own business venture. Within that process I really found that actually starting a business of my own was something I knew I always wanted to do. And with that, Jackson Paige Associates LLC DBA Jackson Paige Photography was born.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Making the decision to be a full time photographer was not easy for many reasons. The main one, income. While I had a lot of friends and family that supported my business, its not enough. There is a big risk in the beginning as your money isn’t guaranteed and your still building your clientele. The past few years Ive worked really hard to market myself to reach new families and faces that are willing to trust me to capture their memories.
We’ve been impressed with Jackson Paige Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My main goal when photographing a session is to have my clients engage with each other naturally. I want my clients to look back through their gallery and feel something. Feel the love and genuine connection they have with each other. I want my work to tell a story.
