Today we’d like to introduce you to Anais Timm.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started about eight years ago when I decorated my sister-in-law’s baby shower. At the time, I was simply doing something special for my family, but I really enjoyed the creative process and seeing everything come together. That experience sparked something in me, and little by little I began decorating more events for family, friends, and eventually clients.
Over time, what started as a hobby grew into something much bigger. I continued learning, practicing, and developing my own style with balloon décor. Photography was also something I loved, so eventually I decided to bring both of those creative passions together.
That journey became Anais Balloons Photography LLC. Today, I offer balloon décor as well as photography for families, maternity sessions, birthdays, cake smashes, graduations, and other special moments. I’ve learned a lot along the way, not only about creativity and running a business, but also about trusting myself and continuing to grow even when life gets busy.
What I love most is being able to create something beautiful for people and be part of memories that are important to them. When I think back to that first baby shower eight years ago, I definitely didn’t imagine it would eventually turn into my own business, but I’m very grateful that it did.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance everything. Along with running my business, I work as a caregiver and I’m also a nursing student, so there are times when my schedule can be very demanding.
Growing a business while working and going to school has taught me a lot about time management, discipline, and patience. There have also been times when business has been slower than I hoped, or when I’ve had to figure things out on my own, whether it was learning new photography techniques, improving my balloon work, marketing, or understanding the business side of things.
I think one of the biggest lessons for me has been learning not to compare my journey to someone else’s. My growth may look different because I’m balancing several responsibilities, but I’ve continued to move forward and improve little by little.
Even with the challenges, I’ve never stopped enjoying the creative side of what I do. Seeing a client happy with their photos or walking into a space that I transformed with balloons always reminds me why I started.
We’ve been impressed with Anais Balloons Photography LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Anais Balloons Photography LLC combines two of my biggest creative passions: balloon décor and photography. I create customized balloon décor for celebrations such as birthdays, baby showers, graduations, and other special events, while also offering photography for families, maternity, cake smashes, couples, seniors, and seasonal sessions.
What I love most about my business is being able to help people celebrate important moments in more than one way. Sometimes that means transforming a space with balloons, and other times it means capturing memories through photographs that they can keep for years.
I think what sets my business apart is the personal attention I give to each client. I don’t want every setup or photography session to feel the same. I enjoy learning what the client has in mind and creating something that reflects their personality, style, or celebration.
I’m especially proud of how much the business has grown from something I originally started for family into a brand of my own. I’m always learning and improving, but I still try to keep that same personal touch and excitement that I had when I first started.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice would be to start before you feel completely ready. When I started, I didn’t have everything figured out, and I definitely didn’t know everything about running a business. A lot of what I’ve learned has come through experience, mistakes, practice, and simply continuing to show up.
I also think it’s important not to compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Every business grows at a different pace, and it can be easy to feel discouraged when you see what other people are doing. I wish I had understood earlier that growth takes time and that consistency matters more than trying to be perfect.
I would also tell anyone starting out to keep learning, stay open to improving, and not be afraid to ask questions. Your style, confidence, and business knowledge will develop along the way.
Most importantly, remember why you started. There will be stressful days and slow seasons, but if you genuinely enjoy what you do, that passion will help keep you going.
