Meet Genna Bross Greta Kodan of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Genna Bross Greta Kodan.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
happily.catalogued started with two Maryland moms, a shared love of getting things in order, and the belief that work can be both meaningful and fulfilling.

We each spent years building careers in operations, logistics, and engineering. Along the way we noticed the same thing again and again: so many people are juggling full lives, with families, schedules, and responsibilities, and they need help creating systems that work. We saw the need, and we knew we had the skills to meet it. So we made a leap and started happily.catalogued as our second careers, a chance to do the one thing we really love while helping people at the same time.

Since then, we’ve grown on the trust of our amazing clients and the referrals they’ve shared with the people they care about. That trust means so much to us, and it’s why we treat every client’s home and needs with precision and care.

Genna:
Born and raised in Maryland, Genna is an avid Baltimore Ravens and UMD Terps fan. When she’s not cheering on her favorite teams, she’s busy running her household with her husband and two young kids.
With over 15 years of experience in operations, Genna understands the importance of streamlining and building efficient systems. She applies that expertise to make sure each client’s unique needs are met with precision and care.

Greta:
Also a Maryland native, Greta keeps a busy schedule as a dedicated mom of three: two kids and one pup. She loves staying active and brings that same energy to every part of her life.
When she’s not managing her household or volunteering in her community, Greta draws on 10 years of experience in engineering, logistics, and operations to serve happily.catalogued. She’s passionate about creating order out of chaos, and she’s always up for a challenge.

Today, happily.catalogued is the business we dreamed of: two friends and partners who get to do work we love, alongside clients who have become part of our story. We’re grateful for every referral and every kind word, and we’re just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a business isn’t for the faint of heart.
We started happily.catalogued while raising our own families, which means our “office hours” have often been squeezed between school pickups, soccer practices, bedtime routines, and the occasional emergency. There have been late nights, early mornings, and more than a few days when the to-do list felt longer than the day.

Learning to wear every hat was its own challenge. We’re not only organizers, we’re also the schedulers, marketers, bookkeepers, and problem solvers behind the scenes. And through it all, we’ve held ourselves to one standard: every client deserves our full attention and our best work, no matter what’s happening at home.
Balancing it all hasn’t always been graceful, but it has made us better at what we do. Juggling our own households has given us a real understanding of what our clients are up against, and it’s taught us that the best systems are the ones that work in real life, not just on paper.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
happily.catalogued helps busy people create order out of chaos to manage the demands of your daily life. We specialize in home organizing, office organizing and organized unpacking after a move. We bring a background in operations, logistics, and engineering to every project.

We’re known for our precision, our care, and our ability to take something overwhelming and make it simple. Our clients tell us they feel lighter after working with us, and many have referred us to friends and family, which is the biggest compliment we could ask for.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Professionally, success is a client who feels lighter. It’s the moment someone walks into a space or opens a system we’ve built and realizes the stress is gone. For us, it isn’t about how a project looks in a photo; it’s about how it works in real life and how it makes our clients feel. When a client is happy, stress-free, and confident that their home or business is running smoothly, we’ve done our job.

Personally, success is getting to do what we love every day. We started happily.catalogued as second careers so we could spend our time on work that energizes us while helping others.
