Hi Hannah and Haley , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started brainstorming the idea for our business about two years ago. We both love coffee and have spent several years working in the service industry. We also wanted our faith to be a central part of our business and strive to make others feel better than when they arrived at our stand.
That is why we named our business after Ephesians 3:17-21, which talks about being rooted in Christ’s love. We started with a collapsible coffee cart and later renovated an old two-horse trailer into our coffee trailer. We serve Anne Arundel County five days a week, and update our schedule on socials weekly. In addition to being business partners, we’re also cousins, so it’s been really special to be able to build this business together.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We are incredibly grateful for where we are today, but the road has not been completely smooth throughout our journey. One challenge we have faced is weather, especially when rain, wind, or extreme temperatures affect our ability to operate. Another has been learning all of the health department requirements and regulations that come with building a coffee trailer from scratch.
Lastly, finding the balance of being a business owner has been a challenge. You wear all of the hats and have to quickly pivot and problem-solve, whether that means figuring out electrical, plumbing, random mechanical problems, and more.
As you know, we’re big fans of Ephesians Coffee. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our business specializes in specialty coffee, offering espresso-based beverages such as cappuccinos, americanos, and lattes along with cold brew, drip coffee, chai lattes, and hot tea.
What sets us apart is our focus on excellent customer service and genuinely caring for our customers. We don’t want anyone to feel like just another number; we want every customer to feel valued and cared for. Our faith and values are at the heart of our business, and our mobile setup allows us to bring our coffee to where our customers are.
We also offer vending and catering for parties, weddings, corporate events, and more.
How do you think about happiness?
It has been incredibly meaningful to see the community that has formed around our business. Our Severna Park customers have been especially meaningful to us throughout our journey, and we are so grateful for the support, encouragement, and kind words they have shared with us. More than anything, we love our customers and are thankful to see the joy our business has brought to them and to be a small part of the community we serve.
