Rising Stars: Meet Niki Pearson of Las Vegas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niki Pearson.

Hi Niki, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kuties & Kupcakes has always been a dream in the form of entrepreneurship. I have always wanted to own my creation and blaze my own trail. The idea was given to me later in 2020 by my mother. I had a daughter of my own and I constantly searched for experiences that catered to her interests in self care and beauty. It was very limited in Las Vegas for girls at that time.

I retired for my job as a flight attendant after 16 years to fully take on becoming my own boss. My mother had a friend who owned a spa themed party bus/ event company in Atlanta GA. They spoke and she shared her journey and insight with my mother.

My mother then called to share that she thought this would be perfect for me. I definitely was skeptical and thought it was a reach for me, but because I saw the limited activities for little girls and nothing like this offered because my own daughter I considered it seriously.

My mother put me in touch with her friend Carmen and she and I spoke for an 1 hr and I was sold. She also became my mentor and the rest is as they say history. I bought my bus the following week and flew to Atlanta to shadow her and host a party.

The next six months were licensing and conversions and by July 2021 I hosted my first official party.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been so many challenges along this journey. It is definitely not for the weak I can say that. Financially it has been up and down. Bus needed maintenance, We have been restructuring, rebranding, pivots due to economic changes and pricing changes based on our worth as well.

I also think we are underrated due to appearance as well. We both look young than we are and our energy is youthful. People tend to be surprised when we show up to host their parties.

I also believe the biggest challenge for us is that we do have a strong sense of community and want to help others be successful but it is not always reciprocated.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are the first mobile spa themed party bus in Las Vegas designed for kids specifically for girls ages 3-16. We specialize in spa themed parties, mobile karaoke parties, sleepovers, kids picnics, mobile craft labs and diy kits. We also provide concierge event planning services and decor.

Our main niche is our party bus for kids we were the first designed for kids in mind. We also blazed a trail for mobile crafts/labs for kids Las Vegas.

I am most proud of 2 things in particular. First, the ability to take an idea from mind and create something meaningful and special. I began trying to build a business and what we have created now is a legacy. Core memories for this kiddos that will not soon be forgotten. More than I ever imagined for sure.

Secondly, I am most proud of what it has shown others is possible. The kids, my kids, my friends, family and other business owners. We showed that there is a market for girls and children’s parties beyond the bounce houses, skating rink and play places. We definitely are ahead of our time but we are getting there.

What sets us apart from other is our business foundation with is family. Our kids work on the bus with us and my business partner and myself are both moms. The fabric of what we do is rooted in our relationship with our daughters and how we approach those dynamics. I always say anyone can take my business model and got do it exactly but they don’t have us. We are the soul of this business. We love what we do and it shows. We are the heartbeat and without us it’s just another venture, just another bus.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Well, economically speaking I think creatives are definitely going to be a much needed resource. AI can create and calculate and even plan parties but the human interaction and the creative aspect will definitely be needed and in demand. We definitely see a rise in creativity in the coming years.
