Meet Mariah Fisher of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Fisher.

Hi Mariah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been drawn to creativity, fashion, and visual storytelling. I started by studying art and design before earning my degree in Fashion Design from Moore College of Art & Design, where I was recognized for both Best Collection and Best Eveningwear. That experience helped me develop my voice as a designer and gave me a strong foundation in creating pieces that feel feminine, expressive, and visually memorable.

Over time, my work naturally expanded beyond designing clothing. I began using social media as another creative outlet, sharing fashion, lifestyle, travel, and behind-the-scenes content while building my personal brand. That eventually opened the door to brand collaborations, gifted campaigns, events, and opportunities to work more seriously as a content creator and visual storyteller.

Today, I’m continuing to grow both sides of my career fashion design and content creation while becoming more intentional about the brands and projects I align with. I’m currently represented for creator management and brand partnerships, and I’m focused on creating high-quality content, expanding my audience, and building a career that allows me to combine fashion, creativity, storytelling, and entrepreneurship.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to navigate the creative industry while building a career that doesn’t fit into just one box. As a fashion designer and content creator, I’ve had to learn how to balance creativity with the business side branding, networking, pitching, negotiating opportunities, and consistently putting myself out there even when results weren’t immediate.

There have also been periods where I had to invest in myself before seeing the return, whether that meant upgrading equipment, creating content independently, attending events, or continuing to build my portfolio and online presence. Not every opportunity has worked out, and there have been moments of doubt and frustration, but those experiences taught me to be more selective, strategic, and confident in what I bring to the table.

The challenges have ultimately helped me become more intentional about my career. I’ve learned that growth isn’t always linear, and sometimes the quieter seasons are where you develop the skills, discipline, and direction that prepare you for the next opportunity.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a fashion designer, content creator, and visual storyteller. My work centers around fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and creating strong visual experiences. As a designer, I specialize in feminine, statement-driven pieces with a particular love for eveningwear. As a creator, I focus on producing polished fashion and lifestyle content that feels aspirational while still reflecting my own personality and creative point of view.

One of the things I’m most proud of is graduating from Moore College of Art & Design and receiving recognition for both Best Collection and Best Eveningwear. That was a major moment for me because it confirmed that the ideas and details I put into my work were connecting with other people. Since then, I’ve continued growing beyond traditional fashion design by building my personal brand, creating content, attending industry events, and working with brands through collaborations and campaigns.

What sets me apart is that I understand fashion from both sides. I’m not only styling or creating content around clothing I understand design, construction, color, proportion, presentation, and the storytelling behind a look. That background influences everything I create. Whether I’m designing a garment, planning a photoshoot, or producing content for a brand, I’m always thinking about the complete visual story and how to make it feel distinctive and memorable.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that might surprise people is that while I’ve been building my career in fashion and content creation, I’ve also worked in the healthcare field. My online presence is very creative and visually focused, so most people probably wouldn’t expect that side of my life.

Balancing both has taught me a lot about discipline, patience, and connecting with different kinds of people. I think it has also made me more grounded and intentional about the creative career I’m building. Fashion and storytelling are where I express myself creatively, but there are other parts of my life that have shaped who I am behind the brand as well.
