Hi Claudia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into tattooing really started with my love for art. I’ve always loved creating things, and I’ve always been the kind of person with a long list of creative hobbies. Over time, that creativity led me to tattooing, where I discovered my passion for fine-line and delicate tattoos, and eventually, Clauss Tattoo was born.
What started as simply learning and perfecting my craft slowly became a business and community that I’m incredibly grateful for. Through word of mouth, social media, and the support of my amazing clients, I’ve been able to grow my brand and now work from my studio in Bethesda, Maryland.
Today, Clauss Tattoo is a reflection of everything I love about being creative. I get to connect with so many amazing people, bring their ideas to life, and continue growing and evolving as both an artist and a business owner.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building Clauss Tattoo has come with a lot of learning, trial and error, and moments of uncertainty. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance being both an artist and a business owner, because there is so much that happens behind the scenes beyond just tattooing.
There have been ups and downs, but every challenge has taught me something and helped me grow. I’m still learning every day, and I think that’s part of what makes the journey so rewarding. Looking back, I’m really proud of how much both I and Clauss Tattoo have grown along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work at Clauss Tattoo is all about creating personalized tattoos that feel special to each client. While I specialize in fine-line and tiny tattoos, I genuinely love working on all types of tattoos—from meaningful symbols and custom ideas to florals, lettering, and many more styles and designs. I really enjoy bringing someone’s vision to life in a way that feels beautiful, personal, and true to them.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients give me. For me, tattooing is not just about creating a beautiful design—it’s also about making sure every person feels comfortable, heard, and involved throughout the experience. I think what sets Clauss Tattoo apart is that personal connection and attention to detail. I truly care about every piece I create and want each tattoo to feel as special to my client as the meaning behind it.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always creative, curious, and very hands-on. I loved trying new hobbies, making things, and finding different ways to express myself creatively.
I’ve always been passionate about what I love and a bit of a perfectionist. Staying true to myself and building a life that feels like me is really important. I hope that when I have kids one day, they can look at my journey and feel inspired to follow what they love and stay true to themselves.
