Today we’d like to introduce you to Ibukun Jeje.
Hi Ibukun, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Nigerian-born beauty and lifestyle creative, entrepreneur, and the founder of Glamour Aura. My story has been shaped by curiosity, creativity, and a desire to build a life that allows me to explore all of the things I’m passionate about.
Growing up in Nigeria, I developed an appreciation for beauty, fashion, and self-expression at an early age. After moving to the United States, I found myself navigating a new environment while figuring out what I wanted my own life and career to look like. Like many young women, I explored different paths, but I always felt drawn toward creativity and entrepreneurship.
Eventually, I decided to stop waiting for the “perfect” time and started building. That led to Glamour Aura, my beauty business, and eventually expanded into my work as a fashion and lifestyle creative. What began as a love for beauty has grown into a larger vision of creating a brand and platform centered around beauty, confidence, fashion, lifestyle, and self-expression.
One thing I’ve learned along the way is that your journey doesn’t have to fit neatly into one box. I’ve always had many interests and ambitions, and I’ve learned to embrace that rather than feel pressured to choose just one identity. Being an entrepreneur and creative has given me the freedom to explore those different sides of myself while continuing to grow professionally and personally.
Today, I’m focused on growing Glamour Aura, expanding my work in fashion and lifestyle, and continuing to create opportunities for myself and others. I’m still building, still learning, and still figuring out what the next chapter looks like — but that’s what makes the journey exciting. Ultimately, I want my story to inspire other women to take themselves seriously, pursue their ideas, and understand that they’re allowed to create a life that looks uniquely like them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to build something for myself while also navigating a new environment and figuring out exactly who I wanted to become creatively and professionally. There were moments when I questioned whether I was doing enough or moving quickly enough, especially while balancing work, entrepreneurship, and my creative ambitions.
Building Glamour Aura from the ground up has also taught me that entrepreneurship requires a lot more than having a good idea. You have to be willing to learn, adapt, invest in yourself, and keep showing up even when things aren’t moving as quickly as you imagined. There have been setbacks, uncertainty, and plenty of trial and error, but each experience has helped me become more confident and intentional about my vision.
I’ve learned not to view challenges as signs that I’m on the wrong path. For me, they’ve become part of the process of becoming the woman and entrepreneur I’m meant to be.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is a combination of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, styling, content creation, and entrepreneurship. I see myself as a fashion and beauty icon and lifestyle influencer, while also being the founder of Glamour Aura, my beauty business.
I’ve always been drawn to the power of presentation—how fashion, beauty, hair, styling, and the little details can completely transform how a woman feels about herself. That passion naturally grew into my personal brand and eventually into Glamour Aura, where I’ve been able to turn my love for beauty and aesthetics into a business.
Through my content and personal style, I share beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and the experiences that inspire me, while Glamour Aura allows me to take that creativity beyond content and build something tangible of my own. The two are closely connected: my personal brand represents the woman, the creativity, and the vision, while Glamour Aura represents the business behind that vision.
I’m most proud of being able to create a space for myself where I don’t have to fit into one category. I can be a stylist, a fashion and beauty personality, a lifestyle creator, and an entrepreneur all at once. I’ve taken something that began as a genuine love for beauty and fashion and turned it into a growing brand.
What sets me apart is that I bring both the creative and entrepreneurial sides together. I’m intentional about aesthetics, but I’m equally passionate about building a real business. Ultimately, I want to inspire women to embrace their beauty, elevate their personal style, and recognize that they can build a life and brand that reflects every side of who they are.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer in constantly learning and evolving, so I’m always looking for resources that help me become a better version of myself—both personally and professionally.
For staying organized, I love tools like Notion and my calendar because I’m balancing my personal brand, content, styling, and Glamour Aura, and I’ve learned that having a clear plan gives my creativity room to grow. I also use ChatGPT as a tool for brainstorming, researching, organizing ideas, and looking at things from a different perspective.
I’m also a big believer in learning from people who have already built the kind of life or businesses I aspire to have. I enjoy listening to podcasts and consuming content around entrepreneurship, personal development, branding, beauty, fashion, and mindset. Books like *Atomic Habits* have also influenced the way I think about consistency and building a life through small, intentional choices.
But honestly, one of my biggest resources is simply staying curious. I pay attention to people, trends, business ideas, fashion, beauty, and culture around me. I’m constantly asking myself, “What can I learn from this?” I think that curiosity has helped me grow not only as a business owner, but also as a creative and as a woman.
