Hi Sharlene, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started with my best friend and sister in love Melissa V. Neal. I would always take pictures of her. She trusted and believed in me with some of her biggest projects when I didn’t believe in myself. She has introduced me to other photographers who are very knowledgeable and so willing to help me with certain challenges that may arise. My wonderful husband also so the talents that I possessed and bought me my first digital camera. I have used YouTube to learn about new techniques to develop my skills. Starting this business has not been easy, but it has been rewarding. Having people that will push you to do nothing but your best while also pushing your creativity is key. Surround yourself with people who are passionate and more knowledgeable about the business you’re in. Remember to never compare yourself to others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely has not been a smooth road, but what successful business has a smooth road? I would say being consistent and trusting the process has been the biggest struggles. Being a creative business owner has its up seasons and downs seasons. Being able to be consistent during them down seasons will test your faith. Trust the process and keeping my faith has been a life saver.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Boudoir and Portrait Photographer. I specialize in capturing your natural beauty. I built an experience that didn’t just focus on the final images, but on how my clients felt from the very first inquiry to the final reveal. Every detail became intentional. Every step became part of something bigger than a photoshoot.
Because this work was never just about photos.
It’s about confidence that doesn’t fade after the session ends.
It’s about seeing yourself in a way you may have never allowed yourself to before.
It’s about owning your story—fully, unapologetically.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I definitely encourage everyone to find a mentor. If you can find one that tap in both sides of your business that would be awesome. I have a business mentor and also I few creative mentors. Also just having like-minded friends is such a great resource and way to keep moving forward. I do believe everyone offer some kind of knowledge you sometimes have to use discernment to get what you need from that knowledge.
