Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Kline.
Hi Jaime, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My background begins as a NASA Engineer. I was a young girl, age 13 who attended Space Camp and could think of nothing other than working at NASA. I spent my high school and college career preparing for such a career, and achieved B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Very quickly, I advanced in my career to project, then program, then corporate leadership. In my last role, I was the VP of Operations and managed a portfolio of contracts supporting NASA, and other government agencies. I’ve led teams developing state-of-the-art telescopes like James Webb Space Telescope and Hubble. I managed programs as large as 400 personnel that included more than 40 companies.
As I was growing up, I learned to be a people-pleaser. I wanted my parents, teachers and my bosses to be proud of my work and effort. Part of this people pleasing stemmed from a demanding childhood, and expectations thrust upon me by my father. I often would set aside my own intuition to ensure I was making others happy.
Fast forward to late 2017 when I was transitioning off a project at NASA. My children were growing up (I have three kids) and I felt disconnected from my work, had few friends, and wanted something more for my life. I decided at that time to enroll in a yoga teacher training. The marketing of that training really appealed to me: it spoke about a deeper connection to purpose, community, and developing a sense of self worth. These are things I desperately needed in my life. For several years, I taught a single class once per week, and enjoyed the community that I gained by being associated with yoga.
In 2022, I was offered, what I thought was my dream position. I was the Program Manager of a $359M contract at NASA Goddard. It was a role I had been working towards for quite a long time. Unfortunately, in that role, I was not set up to succeed. Ultimately, that role did not work out, a senior executive threatened me, and after only a few months, I was forced to leave that role.
Up until that point, my entire identity had been wrapped up in what I did for work. I felt I was a failure for the role ending, that I couldn’t salvage it, and I felt a lot of shame. I wasn’t sure what I’d do next, and at one point, I wasn’t even sure I’d survive it.
I did, however, know that yoga, and in particular, meditation, made me feel whole. I hired an energy healer, I joined a yoga training for CEUs, and slowly healed the shame that I had been carrying for years. I gained an understanding of my perfectionist tendencies and started to unravel the identity crisis I experienced. I was incredibly intrigued by meditation and how I could help others meditate more easily, and so I started to research new methods. This is when I stumbled upon sound healing.
My first sound bath experience was incredible. I felt a sense of relief, of weightlessness, that I had never experienced before. It was like I was tripping but on vibration. I knew I had to know more about this work. I spoke to another sound healer, and learned about her teacher and signed up for The Sound Healer’s Academy. In that 60-hour training, I learned the fundamentals of being a sound healer, and created my first workshop.
As they say, the rest is history. After TSHA, I was invited into a year-long business mentorship with my sound healing teacher, Susy Markoe Schieffelin. In that mentorship, I developed The Alchemy of Sound Practitioner Certification, which is my own sound healing certification. I also developed Ritual, an on-demand membership of classes and practices to support anyone on their own spiritual journey. After my first year in business, I wanted to expand, and created new services, started private coaching and led my first retreat to Sayulita Mexico. I also became a partner with Crystal Tones, who is the singing bowl manufacturer of my bowls.
In just three years, I’ve scaled my business to six figures while holding a full time corporate job, and am projected to be a multi six-figure business by 2027. In June 2026, I was laid off from my aerospace career due to budget cuts, and have decided to go all in on my business with plans to open a high end wellness studio in 2027.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest challenge for me was juggling a full time corporate leadership role and a business. I have been working 65-70 hours for over three years, hustling to build something I’m proud of. It has meant less sleep, missing some events with my children, and working through dinner. But to be honest, I am proud of the hustle. This work – my sound healing, yoga, wellness and coaching, and retreats, do not feel like work. To watch a client work through a life challenge, pick up a mallet for the first time, or belly laugh at the retreat dinner table is food for my soul. I take so much fulfillment in helping people grow and connect with themselves.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Jaime Kline?
My business offers sound healing education, public and corporate wellness classes, retreats, and leadership coaching for high achieving women who are looking to 1. expand their careers 2. pivot into a service-based wellness career or 3. connect to themselves through spiritual practices.
I specialize in bridging the gap between science and spirituality. My methods are rooted in nervous system science, polyvagal theory, music theory, mathematics, and physics. I combine the science with my study of Vedic Yoga practices and Buddhism to support the whole person.
My sound work, in particular, sets me apart in the industry. I have spent thousands of hours honing my craft, creating a 100-hour practitioner certification that is comprehensive and bridges science and spirituality, and leading transformative sound experiences across Maryland. I work in collaboration with almost 20 businesses and organizations offering custom sound experiences across the region.
I’m proud that my brand is staying true to who I am. I am not interested in being a fluffly, “woo” spiritual guru. I like tangible, concrete proven scientific methods, which support the metaphysical and spiritual part of my work. I am direct, candid, and my clients know who I am through my brand voice.
I pour my heart into my work. My services are comprehensive and exceptional quality, as I lead my services in the way I’d want to receive them as a client. Clear communication is kind, and I value deep relationships with people who want to show up and go deep into the work of themselves. I’m not interested in fluffy, surface-level services. I desire clients who are ready to show up, do the work, and commit to their highest selves.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Wellness in general is a booming business, and I don’t believe that will change any time soon. The social and political climate has become quite divisive, and I believe people are looking for ways to connect to themselves and to their communities. In this way, yoga, sound healing, and other modalities are ripe for new clients. That being said, there is a large amount of practitioners in this space that do not have the proper training or credentials to be offering energy work, the industry is diluted, and it’s tough to sort out the credible healers from all the others. At some point, I believe more regulation will be required as this work is being used to help fragile populations (anxiety, depression, autism, etc.) and real harm can be done without understanding the work fully. There’s quite a lot of BS in the industry, and it’s incumbent upon the consumer to sort it out because there is not much regulation or governing ethics regarding these modalities.
