Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Erwin.
Hi Selena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started creating content towards the end of my breastfeeding journey with my first child(I was miserable and felt horrible), and at the time, I felt really alone. Then I discovered this entire online mom community filled with women who were going through so many of the same things I was, whether it was breastfeeding, motherhood, parenting, postpartum depression, or just the parts of motherhood that people do not always talk about.
I remember thinking, “Wow, I want to be that person for someone else.” I wanted to use my platform to advocate for moms, talk about the hard stuff, and show the real side of motherhood that people do not always like to show.
Since then, my content has grown and evolved with me. I share motherhood, working from home, family life, self care, and the everyday highs and lows of being a mom while also figuring out who I am outside of motherhood. What started with me looking for community has turned into me building a community of my own, and that is what continues to motivate me today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. One of my biggest struggles has been finding the time and consistency to create while being a mom and working a full time job. There have been so many seasons where I have felt stretched thin, questioned whether I was growing fast enough, or wondered if people would actually connect with what I was sharing.
I have also had to learn not to compare my journey to creators who are further ahead. Building a community takes time, and there have been plenty of moments where I wanted to give up or felt like I was putting in so much effort without seeing the results I hoped for.
At the same time, those struggles are a big part of why I continue. I know what it feels like to feel alone or like you are not doing enough, and I want my content to remind other women that they are not alone. I am still figuring it all out, but I have learned that I do not need to have everything perfect to show up, tell my story, and build something meaningful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By day, I’m a auto claims adjuster, and outside of work I’m a wife, mom of two, homemaker, content creator, and entrepreneur. I like to joke that I’m a claims adjuster by day and an entrepreneur and home manager by night.
My content is really centered around my everyday life and the different hats I wear. I share motherhood, working from home, family life, self care, routines, and just the real ups and downs of trying to balance it all while still making time for myself and the things I want to build.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve been able to create by simply being myself. I’m not trying to portray a perfect version of motherhood. I want to show the real moments, the hard moments, the funny moments, and everything in between. I think what sets me apart is that I can be relatable and honest while still creating content that is visually beautiful and intentional. I want my content to feel like you’re talking to a friend, but also leave you inspired.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I would say determination. When I decide I want something, I’m going to figure it out and make it happen, I hyper fixate on it. I’ve had plenty of moments where things did not move as quickly as I wanted, but I’ve never let that convince me that I’m not capable of getting where I want to go.
I also think authenticity is a huge part of my success. I know who I am and what I want my content to represent. I’m not interested in creating a version of myself just because I think it will perform well. I want to build something that feels genuine to me, and I think that confidence and authenticity are what allow me to connect with people and build a community that actually wants to be there.
