Meet Katrina Griffin of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Griffin.

Hi Katrina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely. You have a powerful story of resilience, motherhood, perseverance, and entrepreneurship. Here’s a polished **short life blurb** that keeps it personal and inspirational while highlighting your accomplishments:

My journey is one of perseverance, faith, and believing that failure is not the end of the road—it is often the beginning of a new journey.

I began my nursing journey as a single mother in my early 20s, determined to build a better future for myself and my daughter. After completing nursing school, I faced one of my greatest disappointments when I did not pass the NCLEX exam on my first attempt. I was devastated and questioned whether all the time, sacrifice, and hard work had been worth it. But I refused to let one setback define my future. I studied harder, tried again, and passed—proving to myself that sometimes the greatest victories come after the hardest challenges.

Today, I have spent more than 20 years serving in healthcare as a nurse and have been a Nurse Practitioner for the past seven years. My career has allowed me to serve others across multiple specialties, including women’s health, urgent care, case management, reproductive health, and emergency medicine.

I am also the proud mother of two amazing daughters who have grown to become not only my children, but my best friends. Every day, I strive to make a positive difference in their lives and remind them that their circumstances do not determine their future.

My entrepreneurial journey has been just as meaningful. During COVID, I turned my love of crafting into **Trina’s Trinkets**, a successful creative business that has allowed me to participate in vending festivals and bridal shows while also reaching customers through Etsy. I also became the owner of my own IV hydration business, combining my passion for healthcare and wellness to provide individuals with vitamin hydration and wellness services.

My story is a reminder that setbacks do not have to stop you. Sometimes, they are simply redirections leading you toward something greater. **Failure does not end your road—it starts a journey.**

I can also create a **shorter, more powerful “About Me” version** that would work beautifully for your website, speaking bio, or business profile.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth. As mentioned prior, not passing my nursing exam felt like a failure. As a single parent, I was ready to enter the “working world” and begin earning money for myself and my daugher. However, it caused me to pause on that plan and instead I needed to work hard in studying and being determined to pass my test. I have also had setbacks in life with my start of my businesses, “bad credit”, divorce, and miscarriage, just to name a few. While all these may seem harsh, I make it my daily challenge to continue to work hard with a positive spirit and understand that challenges are just hurdles you must “jump over” and “keep moving.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. I currently work in family medicine practice as well as reproductive health. I love to work with women’s health to support and promote wellness.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I would not chose “LUCK” as a word. Instead, I chose blessings. I have been blessed in life knowing that despite any mishaps, my faith in GOD remains the same. I believe that this has allowed for blessings to flow in my life and business.
