Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Pandorf.
Hi Caroline, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I have always loved animals. Growing up we always had a dog, along with a variety of pocket pets. After receiving my Associates degree, I moved to Maryland to attend Hood College, in Frederick, Maryland. After graduating just like every other graduate I was looking for a job, and I ran into the challenge that I had little or no experience in the field I was looking work in. I had worked a series of mediocre jobs but nothing rewarding. One day while talking to my mother on the phone about how wanting to find a job that was rewarding, exciting and that I could look forward going into work every day, she suggested dog walking/pet care because she recently read article how the Pet Industry is starting to take off. This was in 2007. I scoffed at the idea, thinking how can you make money walking a dog or doing pet care, but remembered that I enjoyed it when I did it while I was in high school and on breaks from college, helping family friends and neighbors so I figured I would give it a shot.
In 2007 Spoiled Pawz was born! And it has been nothing but rewarding, and a joy working with dogs and cats everyday! I really enjoy giving the peace of mind to each of my clients knowing that they can count on me to keep their pet(s) happy and safe. I absolutely love it when I walk into my clients home and the dog(s) are SUPER excited to me. They are jumping with excitement giving me hugs and kisses because they know that their second best friend has arrived. Over the years I have gained loads of experience on many levels with dogs (and cats) from dogs who were just weaned from their mother to senior dogs living their golden years. I have work with all dogs breeds. One of my favorite breed work with is the Bully breeds. Which is consider most misunderstanding breed of dog. In my experience working with dogs I have gained experience working dogs who need different kind of care either in medical care like diabetic care or has special needs i.e.: anxiety. With
that being said, no task is too difficult for me and ready for next challenge/task at hand. With no experience prior and going in “blind folded” on how run business it has exciting experience and of course there has challenging but at end of the day its been nothing but rewarding. If you ask me now if ever would ever trade in my sneakers for some high heels and skirt I would say no thank you. I love every minute of my job even if means I need going out in bitter cold or blazing heat. The most rewarding is knowing that my clients dog(s) are counting on me and just can’t wait to see me. Plus getting a dog kiss as thank you is pretty rewarding too.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Its hasn’t been always easy. Exapecially in beginning trying building the cliential. In beginning I would hang out a dog parks a lot with my dogs to try find clients. It worked out and helped get business rolling. Another struggle for me on personal note its ok say I can’t or no my client will understand. At end of the day I’m human not robot.
One thing I learned being in business competition is real and can be very competitive and you need standing out from other dog walkers make your business stand out or unique.
Our top priority is gain trust from our clients exapecially if the client have been burned by previous dog walker who didn’t following directions or didn’t something to make them uncomfortable. Its important to listen to your clients because at end of the day is help them in time of their absent and it’s their dog/cat not yours.

I specialize working with bully breeds but work with all breeds. I also have specialization in working with dogs with all different levels of anxiety. I have had first hand experience and been working with dogs with anxiety for last 10 years.
What does success mean to you?
Waking up with smile on your face. Or knowing what your doing in life/job makes you happy and you enjoy doing it.
