Check Out Quinones Jhingory’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinones Jhingory.

Hi Quinones, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been drawn to creative expression through modeling, acting, and photography. My passion began with my family, my father is a photographer, and watching him capture meaningful moments inspired me to step in front of the camera while also developing an appreciation for photography myself. My mother also modeled, and seeing her confidence and determination motivated me to pursue the industry.

I began my modeling journey on my university’s modeling team, where I gained experience in print, commercial, and runway modeling while serving as the team’s photoshoot coach. Since then I’ve been brand ambassadors, modeled for fashion brands, participated in fashion shows and talent showcases, and agencies and continued to build my portfolio through creative collaborations and independent projects.

As a model, I strive to represent authenticity and diversity. I’m passionate about promoting natural curly hair and embracing natural beauty, and I hope to inspire young aspiring models to confidently be themselves. My goal is to continue growing in acting, beauty, commercial, lifestyle, print, runway, and fitness modeling while working with brands that value creativity, confidence, and inclusivity. One day, I’d love to collaborate with brands like Nike and Covergirl and continue using my platform to inspire others to pursue their dreams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is learning to accept rejection. Modeling is a competitive industry, and hearing “no” is something every model experiences. Over time, I’ve learned that rejection isn’t a reflection of my worth, it simply means there’s another opportunity that’s a better fit. Rather than letting it discourage me, I’ve used it as motivation to keep improving and pursuing my goals.

Another challenge has been stepping outside of my comfort zone by embracing bold, creative concepts that have helped me become more confident.

I also fractured both of my wrists, which was a difficult obstacle physically and mentally. Rather than letting it stop my journey, I used the experience to build resilience, confidence, and perseverance. Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped me into a stronger, more authentic version of myself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently a lab scientist. I obtained my degree in biology and minor in business administration.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Authentic, confident, passionate, creative, versatile, professional, hardworking, resilient, coachable, and collaborative
