Today we’d like to introduce you to Therese.
Hi Therese, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into nutrition began with a simple belief: food has the power to transform lives. But only when we truly understand the whole person. After earning my bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and my master’s in Nutrition and Public Health from Columbia University, I built a career blending evidence-based science with a functional, root-cause approach to care.
Today, I specialize in helping children and adults with complex health challenges uncover the “why” behind their symptoms. Rather than chasing diagnoses, I focus on connecting the dots between nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, the gut, and the environment to create personalized plans that help people feel their best.
What drives me every day is helping people make sense of what once felt overwhelming. When patients finally connect the dots and understand the root causes of their symptoms, they regain something even more valuable than better health. They regain hope. My mission isn’t to chase numbers on a lab report; it’s to empower adults and families with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to transform their health for a lifetime.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, I underestimated just how many hats I’d have to wear. When you own a small healthcare practice, you’re not just the clinician—you become the marketer, business strategist, HR department, legal and compliance officer, scheduler, biller, IT support, and sometimes even the janitor. Every federal, state, and local requirement lands on your desk, along with the responsibility of delivering exceptional patient care every single day.
There have been plenty of long days and steep learning curves. Building a practice requires far more than clinical expertise; it demands resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to continuously learn skills you never imagined needing.
Ironically, some of my greatest lessons have come from both ends of my work. I learn something new from my patients every day. Their stories continually deepen my understanding of health and remind me why I do this work. At the same time, running a business has challenged me to grow in ways I never expected, from leadership and operations to marketing and finance.
It’s a lot, and it’s certainly not for the faint of heart. But despite the challenges, I wouldn’t trade it. Every obstacle has made me a better practitioner, a better leader, and ultimately a better advocate for the patients and families who trust me with their care.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nadler Nutrition?
At Nadler Nutrition, we believe that health is rarely about treating a single symptom—it’s about understanding how all the pieces fit together. Our practice specializes in functional and integrative nutrition for both children and adults, helping patients uncover the root causes of complex health concerns rather than simply managing them.
We are particularly known for working with patients who have “tried everything.” Whether it’s autoimmune disease, gastrointestinal disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, ADHD, anxiety, chronic inflammation, or unexplained symptoms, we take a deep dive into each person’s story, health history, lifestyle, nutrition, genetics, laboratory data, and environment to create a truly personalized roadmap to better health.
What sets us apart is our commitment to connecting the dots. We don’t believe patients should be treated like a diagnosis or a collection of lab values. We believe every symptom has a story, and our job is to uncover it. We combine rigorous, evidence-based nutrition science with functional medicine principles, giving patients both the “why” behind their symptoms and the practical strategies to move forward with confidence.
Perhaps what I’m most proud of is the experience we create. We intentionally remain a concierge-style practice so we can spend the time that complex cases deserve. Our patients never feel rushed. They feel heard, understood, and supported by a clinician who is genuinely invested in helping them achieve lasting change.
At the end of the day, our mission extends far beyond nutrition advice. We help people make sense of their health, regain hope when they’ve lost it, and empower them with the knowledge and tools to transform not only how they feel today, but how they live for years to come.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’d encourage anyone who has been told, “Your labs are normal,” “Everything looks fine,” or “You’ll just have to live with it,” not to lose hope. While there isn’t always a quick fix, there is often a deeper story waiting to be uncovered.
Health isn’t about perfection. It’s about understanding your body, making informed choices, and taking consistent steps in the right direction. Small changes, when guided by the right strategy, can have a profound impact over time. Small changes compound.
Above all, be your own advocate. Ask questions, stay curious, and don’t settle for feeling less than your best. You know your body better than anyone else, and you deserve a healthcare team that listens, partners with you, and helps you uncover your best path to lasting wellness.
